The Mia Rosales St. John "El Saber Es Poder" Foundation event in Juchipila, Zacatecas, Mexico:
Micron Foundation will be donating 20 brand new computers and internet to the school, Iganacio Allende, in Zacatecas. Mia chose Iganacio Allende because it is the very school her mother Socorro attended nearly 60 years ago.
The El Saber Es Poder Foundation seeks to empower Latinos by providing schools with better supplies, equipment and development of programs to help further education. Mia Rosales St.John is a first generation born Mexicana in America. Her mother, Maria Elena Socorro Rosales, who was born and raised in the beautiful state of Zacatecas, Mexico, is on the board of directors. Socorro raised her three children in America and always stressed the importance of education. Socorro's favorite saying has always been "knowledge is power."
