Band Members: Marianne and Peter are The Kivaz (as in Diva). we started working together in 2003. After we went to Coleg Harlech we became three and called ourselves The Hot Rocks. Now we are back to a twosome again because we are studying together in Preston Uclan doing Music Practice. We both have our own style and this reflects in our music. We both submit songs that we have written. Marianne is main vocalist and plays bass guitar and programs and composes half the music for the band. She loves using music software such as reason and Cubase. She enjoys Egyptian music and all things belly dance. Pete plays guitar, bass, flute keyboards and composes He loves the sound of analog gear such as amps and collecting guitars. He played Glastonbury with his last band though the 90's and used to run a proffesional recording studio in a georgian mansion in Wales back in the 80's.In the Beginning Live first jam of our title track

Influences: Marianne is into loads of stuff but for a few years shes been heavily into Egyptian music because of when she took up learning the dance she loves interacting and jamming so she can improvise and come up with fresh ideas.Pete loves loads of different types of music. I love to improvise and like spontaneous interpretation of music. At the moment he's got into jazz and blues and his ideal life at the moment would be to play all day long sat in the sun with a cup of tea and his choice guitar at the moment. We love and are inspired of everything such as kraftwerk, The Beatles, The Specials, Black Sabbath, The Human League, Nancy Aqram, Natasha Atlas, Terry Riley. Buddy holly, The Who, Amr Diab, Umm Kulthum, Shaabi and Beledi Egyptian music, Lair, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Amy Winehouse, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Picket. Old Skool stuff includinig old Todd Terry stuff from the late eighties and Acid House, rave anthems from the early nineties, Bob Marley, The Beach Boys, Elvis, Ofra Haza, 50 cent, Duran Duran, The Killers, Artic Monkeys, Deep Purple, chilli Peppers, Rage against the Machine, Nivana, Sound Garden, Audio Slave, Areo Smith, Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin, Stuff that we listen to at Uclan, James Brown, Hot Chip, Gold Frapp, Jamaroquai, Guns and Roses, Moby, The Prodigy, Bert bacarach, Queen, theirs loads more but I can't think of them right now!
Sounds Like: We reckon we're quite eclectic because of the amount of diverse influences which have shaped our music
