About Me

God of Justice
I attended this year's Soul Survivor at Belgrave Heights Convention Centre with my dear friend, Kristen. Though I was only able to attend one session out of the week-long event, I have never been spiritually moved like the way I did that day. There was many referring of God's Kingdom, in that no matter our age, gender, ethnicity or where one worships the Lord, WE belong to the same one place in Christ.
Furthermore, not only in our immediate lives, there are millions upon millions of people and civilisations who are doing it extremely tougher that we are, and God has said, "Go, and comfort those people. Give them hope and let them know that Christ died for their sins and He loves them more than Himself."
In saying the words, "Go," it can either mean going to the other side of the world, for example, to the orphans of Somalia, or even turning to the person next to you at school, work, or on the train. If you have hope of a life spent with God, share that hope with the people you come across! As a brother I met there quoted to me:
"Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do...
but how much love we put in that action."
~ Mother Teresa ~
By remembering such things as that, YOU (as one person on this earth) can and WILL make a significant difference. Never underestimate the love that God places in you for others, and ultimately, the love that God has in you.
God of Justice, Saviour to all
Came to rescue the weak and the poor
Chose to serve and not be served
Jesus, you have called us
Freely we receive now, freely we will give
We must go
Live to feed the hungry
Stand beside the broken
We must go
Stepping forward
Keep us from just singing
Move us into action
We must go
To act justly every day
Loving mercy in every way
Walking humbly before you, God
You have shown us what you require
Freely we receive now, freely we will give
Fill us up, send us out
Fill us up, and send us out
Fill us up, send us out, Lord

As you may not be aware, my name is Kevin. I've reached the double decade in my life - stay tuned to find out what it's like.
First and foremost, I am a proud Christian; and no-one and nothing can take THIS part of my life away from me. As each day goes by, I yearn to walk and live more by faith and eventually 'kill-off' any other personas I may be poccessing.
I'm currently studying Social Science at RMIT; having wanted Arts/Social Science at Monash. Regardless of the outcome, I aspire to be a politican at the Local level - there is already one enough Kevin to meet the governmental needs at Federal level - and/or work in the social and youth fields.
As of late (moreso than the past), I have been a person of unpredictable nature: whether it be because of uncontrollable extenal factors, or because I have a strange/unique in showing particular feelings and emotions to the people in my life. The majority of the time - providing that they don't wrong me - I place other people's requiements many tiers above my own [if you are in my friends list, you know I'm right with this point]. However, the majority of the time, these intentions of mine are often perceived to be of wrong nature, or my way to bring someone down. I'm on this everlong quest to find out why I'm seen as this 'vicious' person whereby certain individuals typecast me as someone who can't do good for others.
As you can see, I do rely on worldly opinions to bring me a smile or two - and I do know know that as a Christian, I should not have this sort of perception. But, at the end of the day, ALL people are driven in some sort of way what other people think of them.
So, in a nutshell, that's me. Like it or lump it. Having all said that, those people who ARE genuine in their mateship, support, and compassion towards me know that I return the mateship, support and compassion many times over.

A Favourite Hymn:

This would have to be one of my ultimate favourite hymns of all time. It speaks of comfort in the Lord in times of trouble, and singing it always moves me like no other thing does. Unfortunately, YouTube has been the only way I could find the audio.

DAY BY DAY

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then in ev'ry tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consulation
Offered me within Thy Holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

A Favourite Poem:
A few months back, a special friend shared to me this. Although I know that this is a common poem sent as a chain e-mail, it has a great significance to the relationship I have with this person; as well, it can relate to other valued friends I hardly see nowadays...

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end.
Yet the days go by and weeks go on,
And before I know it, a year has gone.

And I never see my old friend’s face,
For life is a swift and terrible race.
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

“Tomorrow,” I’ll say! “I’ll call on Jim,”
“Just to show that I'm thinking of him.”
But tomorrow comesand tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
“A telegram sir, Jim died today.”
And that's what we get and deserve in the end,
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
The moral being: take the time out of your busy schedules and find some quality time to spend with those you love and cherish; or even just give them a phone call to remind them that you care. Seriously, a phone call/SMS worth ONLY a few cents should NOT have to feel like a chore or financial burden!
Each day without contacting a friend (or loved one) is a day lost of opportunites, and fatally & ultimately, a day lost of memories.

I hear you, Mr Noll.

[SEE HOW IT'S WOMEN OF THESE DAYS WHO ARE TRUELY THE UNSUNG HEROES - SHAME ON YOU, MISOGYNISTS!]
PRAYERS CAN'T BE UNSWERED, UNLESS THEY ARE PRAYED
Life without purpose
is barren indeed,
There can't be a harvest -
unless you plant seed.
There can't be attainment -
unless there is a goal,
And man's a robot -
unless there's a soul.
If we send no ships out -
no ships will come in,
And unless there's a contest -
nobody can win.
For games can't be won -
unless they are played,
And prayers can't be answered -
unless they are prayed.
So whatever is wrong
with your life today,
You'll find a solution
when you kneel and pray.
Not just for pleasure,
enjoyment and health,
Not just for honours
and prestige and wealth.
But pray for a purpose -
to make life worth living,
And pray for the
joy of unselfish giving.
For great is your gladness
and rich your reward,
When you make
your life's purpose -
the choice of the Lord.
