About Me

My real bio- Supposedly (says my grandma who doesn't lie) my female Irish ancestor Katheryn Howard, was married to King Henry the 8th and beheaded for taking a lover (while he had many)...My great, great, great, great grandfather faught for religious freedom in Scotland and was a famous "Coventor" hunted by the English king's men, before he became Mayor of Sanquhar. My grandmother was a Suffragette fighting for women to get the vote! My mother escaped from the Russians at midnight on a butter boat to freedom in Sweden, while her relatives were kept and sent to Siberia. So I guess I got a bit of rebellion brewing in my blood! And all this time I thought it was too much caffeine!A confident, flavorful groove redolent of Woodstock-era The Band and Van Morrison. (Richard Cromelin, Los Angeles Times)
The artist has a strong knack for crafting upbeat songs. As a vocalist, Williamson is no slouch, creating a somewhat breathy Joan Osborne-like tone. A voice well suited to her material. (Music Connection Magazine)
A masterful integration of sounds that are more experimental in nature than you're likely to find on most records of this genre. It seems trite to call a record beautiful -- it's such a shallow and subjective word. But just take my word for it this time ... the record may be called Deer in the Headlights, but Williamson deserves to be in the spotlight and on your CD player. (Indiemusic.com)
Singer, songwriter Diana Williamson travels the byroads of today's pop music with her unique twist of Southern rock, blues and folk. "That is the voice of an artist" (producer David Cole/Richard Marx, Farm Dogs, Bob Seger).
When not writing and performing, (winning "Top Female Singer/Songwriter of the Year for Adult Alternative" at the LA Music Awards), Diana also lends her songs to other artists and film and tv. Watch out for the upcoming movie Two Hitmen which features her song November in June. She also produced the album New Modern Christmas Classics, with the single performed by former Temptation Ali Woodson with Jeff Lorber (available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/hct) The track was picked for Queen Latifah's Xmas movie "The Perfect Holiday" www.theperfectholidaymovie.com
She scored a No. 3 Billboard Dance Club chart for the song Awakening remix by Delerium (of Sarah Maglachlin) fame by EMI artist Sasha Lazard along with the 2nd song Temptation which helped the album reach No. 13 on the Billboard Classical Crossover charts. The song was later released on RCA, Buddah Bar, Chill out in Paris No. 3, Water Dance Music, Neurodisc and Blue Flame Records and in the movie Rebel Angel. Her song Falling cowritten with hitmaker to the stars producer Narada Michael Walden and Florian Richter went No. 13 first week out for Warner Brothers pop artist Judith Lefeber. She wrote Cold Comfort with blues artist Jimmy Rip which became the single on his album "Way Past Blue" and was later featured on House of Blues Hot Biscuits compilation (guitarist for Mick Jaggers solo projects).
Shes placed songs in films, Warner Brothers' "Queen of the Damned," Jean-Claude Van Damme's "Return of the Universal Soldier," Gary Busey's "Detour," title track for James Russo's "Silent Fury," "29 and Holding" and TV shows such as NBC, ABC's prime time series Making the Band, One Life to Live, HBO's Larry Sander's show and Disney's "Z Games.
