About Me
Nick aka DJuice!!! I can remember back to my early childhood being inspired and driven by music. It didn’t matter if I was just listening or actually performing, I always have had a good ear for what moves the soul. My instrumental background consists of the keyboard, clarinet, and the violin. I am creative and artistic with my ways; I love to be noticed as an individual with “dope styleâ€. I love all kinds of music, but my true passion lies in rhythm and poetry; more commonly referred to as RAP. Rap is a way of life; it is an outlet. Rap is about expressing yourself as an individual, in doing this I have learned a lot about myself. It’s a great feeling to be able to take your life’s experiences and write them to a sick beat that you have created. The last eleven years I have elevated my game tremendously. I started recording my own lyrics by the age of thirteen onto a tape deck using an instrumental beat. A couple years later I was DJn house parties. By the time I was sixteen my close friend Michial King and I, to whom I own credit for showing me how to write music and being a part of that driving force that kept me going started recording our own songs over sampled beats. Most recently we started seeking out producers so we could buy beats for our lyrics. At this time we have recorded some songs, but nothing serious has come out of it yet. Along with my passion for producing I also have become very interested in DJn ever since my friend Imade, the owner of a club downtown Portland called Pala let me spin on his turntables before hours. I got hooked; I found a new love for music. I heard about an academy for inspiring DJ’s called DJ Spun Academy. I took a few classes there which has allowed me to sharpen my skills as a DJ and a producer. I needed to come up with a name that defined me. I wanted to relate my name to my past experiences, sum everything up into one word- Juice. This symbolizes all the love and support that I have work so hard for everyday. This means recognition from friends, family, and from me, what I see and what I have been through. It is have a dream and obtaining it. Now as DJuice I own my own record label Nyourface Productions. I am proud to announce that we have released are first album titled In the Building with an artist by the name of Calio. We will have T-shirts and albums for sale so keep posted for upcoming shows and events. I owe a special thanks to the people that have helped make this happen for me and supported me along the way. If it wasnt for you guys I wouldnt be were I am today. Spun Academy, Calio, Michial King, my girlfriend Christine, my parents, Guitar Center in Beaverton for hooking me up with all my equipment, Imade from Pala, Peter from HartMindSoul and to everyone else YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
