I love music. I'm not a music snob, but I hate whack lyrics. I take my time learning new skills, I'm in no rush, yet I learn quickly. I love DJ battles, but I don't have the inclination to practice the amount thats required to enter. I'm always there tho, front row, showing love for those that do. I do scratch, juggle and beat mix. I've been doing it for years and will keep on doing it.
My style and tastes are constantly evolving and I like to think that I'm open about music but certain things always remain - a love for broken beats, fat bass, electro, funk and soul.
My latest project involves performing with Joske - myspace.com/joskeraps. We are considering putting out an EP. Vinyl only though. Thats how we roll. Plutonic Lab provides the beats. Joske is a hater and I love her.... raps. Take a mo to check our collab site.
My other love in life is photography. I achieved a runner up category placement in the Student Photographer of the Year awards, was recently a finalist in the William and Winifred Bowness Photography prize at the Monash Gallery of Art and am the current winner of the Photography component of the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards. I have a calendar of Aboriginal Sports Stars out called Men In Black. Keep an eye out for it.
Upcoming exhibitions include: "Not Really Aboriginal" in May at the Centre for Contemporary Photography, as part of the Next Wave Festival. "Are We There Yet?" A group exhibition at the VCA Gallery in July celebrating 100 years of women having the vote in Victoria and a solo show at Boscia Galleries, Flinders Lane in September. More details to follow...
I've also got a cat called Scribbles who I love. He could beat your cat down.
