About Me

I was born a middle class white child in Sleepy Hollow, New York. How's that for an opening? (Hopefully, you've seen THE JERK and you get that first part. Otherwise, you just think I'm a racist. Which would be bad. On the other hand, if you haven't seen THE JERK, do I really care what you think of me? I don't know. Something to ponder. But anyway ...)

Fast forward through that brief awkward period that encompassed my elementary, middle, and high school years, and you have me right now. And me right now is actually quite a treat, so lucky you.

I'm a writer; currently semi-pro and hoping to move on up. Ideally in television and film, although that work currently represents the smallest part of my income. Most of my writing money comes from covering TV and viral video for various websites. The bulk of my income, though, comes from my freelance editing and proofreading work. Oh, and about a year ago I won the Drama Teleplay competition at the Austin Film Festival, so now I have an agent and a manager and everything. It's very exciting.

Is this "who I'd like to meet" in the Nelson Mandela sense, or in the hawt-dudes-with-tats sense? I'm stymied. I'm guessing Nelson doesn't have a MySpace account, so ...

Mostly I'm here to get and keep in touch with friends. Many of mine have developed an annoying tendency to live far away. (Though presumably not because of anything I did.) I'd also love to use MySpace as a networking tool to make contacts, generate opportunities, get jobs, and all that fun stuff, but I'm happy just to hang out online.

I'm absolutely interested in meeting cool new people, too, but I'm also a bit frightened of what sort of experiences that comment may generate. So I'll be friendly if you are, but please don't try to send me pictures of your dangly bits. I promise: if I want to see them, I'll ask.

I dig very smart people, very funny people, and people who occasionally exhibit an awareness that they are not the center of the universe. (You don't have to acknowledge it *all* the time, mind you; Lord knows I don't.)
