Lets say I’m a candy fiend; both in sugar form and jewellery form. Let’s say I love coffee, vampires, bright nail polish, dancing, and spontaneity. You could call me terrible, terrible trouble. Or Lexy Trouble. I’ll go ahead and throw in the obvious, I love music and art. I took music and acting in post secondary, and have found a desperate need to feast on as many art projects as possible. Which is why I took matters in to my own hands and recently decided to make my own projects from scratch. My first major project is a musical I wrote called “Dead Lover's Dayâ€, I wrote the play (I am also a playwright) and all the songs as well. On top of that, I’ve cast myself in it, along with 7 other actors and we have a full crew. The show is going to be at the Edmonton and Calgary Fringes in 2008, and finishing off August in Red Deer.
My other project in the works is my own solo music project. I love to mix my own songs, and writing lyrics is one of my favourite things when I’ve mixed something that I can have fun with or challenge myself with.
I started this specific project actually wobbling back and forth with what genre I really wanted to create. Part of me really wanted a raw, dark, industrial project, but on the other hand I have always loved to create electronica and new wave. I am working on fusing them together, or finding a nice middle ground. But for the time being I have a few from each genre. I am planning to have a full length cd out soon, to be sold on my myspace!
I’m your typical, energetic, 20 year old. I’m also an alternative model, and have shot for Tracy Venom Photographics. I have a lot to say, too much to say at times. But sometimes I just need to get my opinion out there. Though I’ll admit that I still find myself to be a peace maker; most of the time it’s better if everyone just gets along. It’s much too stressful to be angry and I avoid conflict if I can, though I found on a few occasions that I spit out words faster than thinking through the consequences. I have great friends, and a family that loves me but not so much each other. I suppose I can say that’s lucky. Of course I want to be seen and heard by people--of course I want the attention, I think that most people do. Am I following a modern scene, maybe. But again, the effort to remove yourself from the path the world happens to follow is pointless. Especially when you can make more of a ruckus within a group than outside of it. I want to make music. I want to make entertainment, and art. And I want to have a damn good time doing it.
