About Me

Born amidst terror and death, my birth was heralded by the 1960s race riots of Detriot, Michigan. It was as if man and animal could not perceive the physical reality of walking this earth with the personage of him who has become better known on the internets as poppasteve. Swaddled in Burberry cloths and ducking bullets and tear gas, his saintly mother and misanthropic father reared him for a life of genius and elegance along side the knob-knockers of Taylor, Michigan, the quaint Polish and Italian immigrants of East Detroit, Michigan, and Reaganomic decadence of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Despite these hardships, and with prodding from his sister L., he went on to study the beauty of Western Civilization at mediocre public universities in Dearborn and Philadelphia. His education complete, he headed to the Great White Way of the Big Apple. He married a Jamaican and raised a step-daughter. He moved to humble Grand Rapids and the Jamaican disappeared, although her nasally whine and credit record still lingers. Today, all agree that this humble and gracious man has the intellect of Einstein, the cunning of Machiavelli, the good looks of Cary Grant, the stealth of the Pink Panther, the daring of Zorro, and the nastiness of Donald Rumsfeld.
