Ashley Velez first performed at the age of 5 singing "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. Without her parent’s knowledge, she enrolled herself into the 1st-5th grade talent show at Holbrook Elementary School. Being that she was just a pre-school student and not eligible to compete, Ashley was only allowed to perform as the closing act. But even at 5 years old, her massive voice could not be denied. It was at this time, Ashley received her very 1st standing ovation.Since then, Ashley has enjoyed entertaining crowds of all sizes, and participating in multiple vocal competitions all over California. She took 1st place in TEEN IDOL, was in the top forty group on FOX's hit show AMERICAN IDOL (season 5), placed in the CONTA COSTA COUNTY FAIR, won 1st place in the SPOTLIGHT DANCE ACADEMY VOCAL COMPITION (receiving honors from the academy), not to mention the numerous musicals and talent shows she has been in over 14 years of singing.Ashley's sound is a unique velvet blend of Soul, R&B, and Pop. With inspiration from Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston & Christina Aguilera, its no wonder she has such a lush, rich voice that captures the attention of all who listen.Her current ventures are re-locating her to Hollywood California to record her first album and form a band that will soon tour the world.Ashley’s determination and dedication to her music will sky rocket her all the way to the top! She knows what she wants, and will never cease until she has reached her goal: To make beautiful & inspiring music for all to enjoy.
