My name is Merlin, born june 9th, 1968 and this is what I do:

I write music. I record, arrange, and engineer it all my self. I guess that would make me a producer. Many times I get the chance to colaberate with some great artist. Some of the music you are hearing on this site was the result of a colaberation with someone else. I am currently working with J. Hexx of The J. Hexx Project. So far I have released One album with J. Hexx that I produced.

Influences:

HEART was the inspiration behind the first song I ever wrote. To be more specific, it was the song Little Queen that did it.

KISS has influenced me from the beginning. It was not the music, it was the whole package.

PINK FLOYD THE WALL had a tremendious effect on me music wise. The things Roger Waters did with his bass and his band just blew me away.

THE WHO influenced me with their Rock Opera "TOMMY". This was my first experience with a rock opera or a concept album where the music told a story. This later fostered my love for musical theater. I believe we need more rock operas.

STYX is the band I remember most that pushed my interest towards concept albums. I was becomming a concept album junkie, I needed more and Kilroy Was Here did the trick for me which led me to listen to the rest of their albums. I wish they were still writing that way.

ALICE COOPER on the other-hand turned me on to shock rock and being theatrical on stage. I believe that when you leave concert that you should be walking away with somethin amazinly visual to remember.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart influenced my desire to learn music theory. I was very impressed that he wrote his first piano concerto at age 5.

Harry Manfredini was influiencing me long before I even knew he was. I grew up loving horror movies, the scarier the better, and he helped make those movies even scarier with his music. His music creeped me out.

John Carpenter had the same influience that Harry had, they both scared the s%@ out of me.
