Garry Eister’s music has been performed and/or recorded by the Emerson String Quartet, conductor Kent Nagano, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Sinfonia di Vetro, the San Francisco Guitar Quartet, the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival Orchestra, the Cuesta Master Chorale, Just Strings, Synchronia (of St. Louis) and the Nancy Nagano/Kyomi Kato piano cello duo; guitarists, Lily Afshar, James Edwards, Jesus Saiz-Huedo, John Schneider and Peter Yates; singers John Duykers, Jacalyn Kreitzer, Jonathan Mack and Hector Vasquez; pianist Arlene Dunlap, flautist Fred Lau, percussionist Doug Ovens, and glass armonicist Dennis James, with whom Eister also appeared at the San Francisco International Film Festival, performing an electronic soundtrack which he created to complement James' accompaniment of the silent movie "Metropolis."
Eister's work has been heard at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall; Wigmore Hall in London; the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid; Symphony Space in NY; LA’s Microfest; the 2005 La Guitarra California Festival as well as at concerts in San Francisco, Paris, Copenhagen, Warsaw, Oslo, Stockholm, Tehran, a number of cities in Holland and other cities around the world.
His work has been broadcast on NPR, PRI and their affiliates; the national radios of Sweden, Norway, Holland, Belgium and Australia; German TV and the CBS crime show CSI.
Eister has concertized with Daniel Lentz, Steve Reich and John Schneider's Harry Partch Band. He has also recorded with Linda Ronstadt and John Boylan. His works are available on SONY Classical, Archer Records, and Eister Music.
