Influences: The person who had the greatest effect on me was the guy who taught me my first chords, Kevin smith. He spent much of his time moving between Ohio and California and one year he came back playing guitar. We were both in our early teens and to me watching him play guitar and hearing him sing songs he had written was the coolest thing. Thankfully he took the time to teach me and I have been grateful ever since. I can't imagine my life without being able to let things out through the gift of words and music. The next person was Jim Croce. His music thought me to pick a little. Gordon Lightfoot was also an early influence. His words are amazing and timeless as far as I'm concerned. James Taylor writes amazing lyrics. He can write a song that know one else knows the meaning yet it still pulls us in and keeps us there. Stepin wolf and songs like snow blind friend showed me the power of lyrics that lean towards the darker side of life and John Denver showed me the power of the lighter side. Bob Seger helped me take my voice in more natural directions. Steven Curtis Chapman helped strengthen my faith. There are many others no less important to me and I'm grateful to all of them some are listed here, Larry Norman, Michael Stanley, Pete Seeger, Neil Young, Arlo Guthrie, Art Garfunkel, Paul Simon.
Sounds Like: his self
