Illusory Veil

we play metal. we're not the best, but we're not the worst. we do our best. we believe that that is what metal is all about: metal must have an aggressive element. without that essential element, metal cannot exist, and will be categorized as a derivative form of music, most commonly falling into the realm of screamo, emocore, prog, or just plain old rock. we are none of these things. but what is death metal? metal about death? no, no. death metal is true metal. death metal exhibits hyperaggression. lyrical content is unrelated. the genre is not about what it says, it's about how it's done. what it says is the impact it makes, and what it means. we try to make our meanings as meaningful as possible. we do not write about mindless hate and unbridled anger. we pick subjects that can touch every person, regardless of their affinity to the aggressive package it arrives within. think of it as a beautiful sunset swaddled in gift wrap made of hell.
we also dislike hardcore quite a bit.
