About Me

MADAI – THE GIRL - THE ARTIST Madai is the quintessential Miami Latina, born in Cuba and raised in America; she easily transitions from one culture to another, and blends these two worlds in her life and in her music. A fan of all Music, she in not tied to one style or another, rather her songs resonate with themes from Hip-Hop, R&B, Dance and Pop. Madai mixes the myriad of influences perfectly into a harmonized joy ride that makes you want to get out of your chair and move to the music. Madai was born in Cuba and immigrated to America when she was only 8 years old. She used music to help her learn English, and she buried herself in American Pop culture. As a child, she spent hours in front of the mirror imitating Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera with a hair brush pretending it was a microphone. As she grew she sang top 40 and Latin hits at parties and school events, quickly realized that she loved performing. Even at a young age Madai was comfortable in front of crowds, whether singing or dancing. Her parents encouraged her to follow her dreams, and pursue her destiny to be a singer and entertainer. Soon many people started to notice her poise and singing talent. Madai is not just an exceptional singer/songwriter, she is talented dancer. Madai’s natural dancing ability is an outgrowth of her Cuban roots. Although her parents fled Cuba, they ingrained her with a love of Cuban music and Latin dance. Her father started teaching her salsa and merengue at a young age, now Madai moves effortlessly on the stage, either shaking her hips or doing a complicated salsa, her moves have a natural and seductive pulse. At 8 years old, Madai began writing poems in English and Spanish, but quickly transitioned into writing songs. Now Madai writes her own lyrics (often bilingual), not based on some marketer’s idea of what might sell, but based on her experiences and on themes that make her smile. Her story lines engage you. Madai has a knack for capturing a moment and conveying its’ emotion in song. Yet her lyrics are not outrageous, they reflect the experience of girls of her generation, living in a cross cultural digital world, they are universal and fun. Driven by a hardworking immigrant mentality, Madai is tempered by family and culture. Her parents, both Doctors in Cuba, gave up everything for her to come to America, in return she puts her full effort into everything she does in this country. Aside from her passion for singing and songwriting, she has always been is an A student. Her greatest pleasure is being with her big and extended Cuban family, singing and dancing. The “IT” factor is apparent in her all around performance. She gives every song passion and zeal. She makes every song her own, imbuing them with her unique style and attitude. And when you hear her songs once, the catchy rhythm and phrasing stay with you. Madai is not easily pigeon holed into any one style of music. Her songs blend cultures, mixing her Americana youth experiences over strong hip-hop beats. Her Soulful voice is a compliment to the bass heavy sound, hinted with an accent of Latin Flair, her goal is to be part of the English Market. This is not a culture clash; this is a merging of ethnicity in the common spirit of today’s youth. These songs are fun, hot and expansive. The song’s scintillating tempos are buoyed by Madai’s throaty call to Party. She delivers every line with maturity and soul. You can hear the passion in her voice when she sings, partly because she writes the songs she sings and partly because of her inner spirit, she loves to belt out songs for everyone to enjoy. No matter the reason, when she sings it is obvious she is having fun. Madai’s songs are so complete, and compelling it is almost unfathomable that she wrote them when she was only 16 and 17 years old. Now, Madai is ready to take her place (in the long line of ground breaking artists who unique styles were rooted in their Cuban heritage) as the next great crossover artist, blending her own style from various cultures and crafting a new sound for all to enjoy. Her production team is based on an amazing group that believes and supports her; Dave Siegle, Shane Stoner, and Omar Tavarez. She has also worked with producer Rahdeekhal, and such rappers as Sofla Kingz (Tropico and Bombillo) and Garcia. This is pure dance music, it beckons you to get out of your chair to move; but the smart lyrics resound with images of today’s youth that make you smile. Her songs are colorful, “ear candy”, they make you feel good. Her music would be appropriately heard on any Top 40 stations or Latin stations.
