An old Greek proverb says that "only through fire is there shine." The same goes for Ahmad, he has literally walked through the flames of life un-burnt and ready to shine. Ahmad was born in northern Iraq, where everyday was a struggle to survive Saddam Husain's evil regime. Saddam was on a killing spree of the Kurds in northern Iraq like Ahmad, everything from bullets to mortars and gas bombs were used to incinerate all who opposed him. Ahmad and his family found their way to the United States to escape this life of fear and oppression to follow their dreams.Ahmad only one of 12 brothers and sisters came to America not speaking a word of English in 1997. It was also around this time he heard his first rap song "mo money mo problems" Notorious B. I. G. yet he understood nothing of what he heard. It wasnt till 2002 when finishing his senior year of school, Ahmad started to write poetry, and write he did, using any free time he had to fill notebooks of poetry from lines of love, to cries of despair that reflects the pain of growing up in war-torn northern Iraq. This led to deeper exploring into his talents and producing music and eventually going on rapping as well.By the year 2003-2004 he became engulfed by the idea of rap and started working with Roads to Riches Productions, and in 2005 he started laying the foundation of his record label Independent Mindz Records (IMR) and his debut album Hot Tea, to be released in summer of 2006. Ahmad is well entrenched in all verses of the business as he not only produces, sings, and raps, he also does most of his own marketing as well as being the CEO of Independent Mindz and bringing in 5 other artists to his label. To Ahmad this is his reason for coming to America, this is his American Dream.
