My real name is Jake and I live in the hills of Shropshire, where nothing happens and nothing will happen, unless the weekly bus service connecting my village to the town, gets cancelled, then a hoard of grandpa’s and grandma’s will raise hell. I started producing music at the tender age of 16, after I sold my turn tables for a 4 track tape recorder. I had no idea how it worked or why I bought it, I just got told to get one by a mate who was into his music. Luckily it paid off and I started to get to grips with how it worked. At the time I was at college and working at a supermarket, my friend and I were sick of not making music as we both were not really interested in being in bands, as nearly all my friends who were into music had bands. So we decided to make hip-hop using a keyboard and my 4 track. We also added a karaoke microphone (that I found) into the high tech set up. I rapped and wrote the lyrics and my friend (robin/itchyindex) played the keys. At the time we thought we were the best thing to happen to Church Stretton (our small town) since the Co-op opened its doors there. But in reality we were not that great. The music was good as Rob could actually play the keys what I was doing had little to be desired. We went our separate ways when Rob went to uni and I hung back to carry on at college as I had fucked up my courses. I started to take the whole music thing a little more seriously and I got into production big time. People started to take notice of my stuff and I thought that there could be something in it, so I went to Liverpool to further my knowledge of production, and meet some contacts.A few EP’s later and a lot of perseverance I am still finding my way in this world, but love making music. I like to make music that is personal to me and has my personality in it, I hate rap about bitches and guns, I prefer rap about cups of T and what I have experienced. I have found that if you lie about your experiences then people can’t relate to what you have to say, they just shut off, but if you are truthful then you have allot more chance of being taken seriously, and there is no harm in making people smile along the way.
