Besides high school bands and other short lived projects, it all started with a band called Wretched Decrepancy of which I was the vocalist. The band started in 1994 and only lasted for a couple of years. The members were comprised of people who went on to form other bands later, among them being Gabe Wagner on drums (later to form Gajebradu), Travis Weikum on guitar (later to form Skinned), Dave Dundas on bass (also of Skinned) and myself. As far as I know it was the first brutul death metal band to come out of the northern Colorado area. We played quite a few shows under that name in 1994 and 1995 with bands like Immortal dominion and Dysorder. We were also scheduled to open for Machine Head but the show was canceled at the last minute. There are only 2 songs (that sound half way descent anyway) to have made it through all of my years of partying and spilling beer all over everything. One was called Necro- Bashing and the other is called Lick the Decay. I will be sure to swap them out here so you can hear them both if you so desire. After that band I was in a band called the Dacron Jesus Kult which started in 1997 and fizzled out in 1998. It was made up of myself on vocals and guitar, Damon Parrish on guitar (later of eROTic and Skarmine) Gabe Wagner again on drums, and Thommy Razor, formerly of Skinned, on bass and keys (later to form eROTic). This was an industrial metal project that seemed to have a fairly large underground following despite it's short life. We played with many local bands including Train Wreck Helmet and Immortal Dominion. We also recorded a 6 song demo that I will be posting soon. From there Thom and I started a goth Band called Acid Reign later to be joined By Stripper Gore on bass (later of eROTic) we never really recorded anything worthy so you probably won't ever hear it unless you saw us play before which is unlikely considering that we only played at the Starlight in Ft. Collins once and a couple of parties outside of that. At any rate it was definitely cool stuff and I wish I had a recording of it so you could hear for yourself. In 2001 I was in famous Bacon as a vocalist again. Members: Paul Alexander on drums (later to form Action Friend) Casey Romero on bass, Ryan Gaudie on guitar (of Gaudie), and myself on vocals. We opened for a few worhty bands like Form of Rocket and DBX (featuring members of GWAR) but the band ran into some lineup changes and didn't end up surviving long after. For a year or so later I did a punk project with my buddy Jeff Dundas and recorded industrial music at home. One day Thom and I were hangin out and he had heard what Iwas doing at home and asked if I wanted to come jam with him again in eROTic. Thom on vocals and keys, Stripper Gore on bass, Greg Keenan on guitar and myself ..s mainly with some guitar and backing vocals. We released 2 albums with that lineup. The first one was called "A Million Empty Lives" in 2003 and "Never Sleep Again" in 2006, both released nationally on Gestalt Records. We were also featured in 2 Denver Dark Arts Festival compilation cd's and a Lollipop Magazine compilation cd that included the likes of King Diamond and Six Feet Under, not bad for a local band. I was always really proud of that band and still feel like we were a little underrated, but we were in a genre that didn't seem to mesh well with what was going on at the time. Growing disagreements in the band mixed with changing musical influences meant the end of eROTic and the beginning of Mourned by Flies. Right around this same time I was also involved in another metal band called Angus Scrimm whose members consisted of myself on vocals, Rich Perry on guitar, Chad Quam on bass, and Mikey Drums on you guessed it drums. His name wasn't really Mikey Drums, I just call him that because I can't remember his last name. (sorry Mike) We played some good show's and had even better times, I can't think of 2 other guys that you could have more fun in a band with besides Chad and Rich. I guess I had alot of good times with Thom and Jenne to though. Anyway back to MBF, we have a new cd out and it's really fuckin good so be sure to check it out. For any info about my new project including show's, merch, bio info, or anything else you might want to know go to the Mourned by Flies page located in my top friends list. I also work for Madison Amplifiers to so if your band needs gear than hit me up and I'll get you a good deal. Thanx for taking the time to check out my music, and be sure to let me know what you think of it. If you have any related stories from the past then send me a message I'd love to hear from you. One last thing that I would like to say before I finish up here is to always believe in yourself and don't ever forget your dreams, because that's all you have in this life. Even if your not very good, keep trying, just remember if it makes you happy than that's all that matters and one day all your hard work will pay off and even if it doesn't than you've had a hell of a good time while it lasted and no one can fault you for that and if they do then fuck them.
