I guess I was a late starter....I blame stage fright for this, or just singing in front of anyone! I overcame this at 20 years old, by going in at the deep end after work mates asked a live band if I could sing with them one night (after a beer or 5) and began with "Aint No Sunshine".
After that...well anyone musical will know...there is no going back.Im a great believer in its not the plans you make, but the journey that takes you there, and how you react to them, as its the experiences along the way that count...These are few of my musical experiences:2001: Was the only backpacker accepted into the Sydney Vocal Arts Centre in Australia where I lived for a year, and went on to record "Bette Davis Eyes" & "Vitamin D" with them.2003: Joined a 13 piece Blues & Soul band (Good Old Boys Blues Band) in Barrow In Furness ,UK and sang Aretha Franklin & other faves at many a beer festival.2004: Was approached by Tiger Records ,wrote & co produced my 1st dance track "Its About Me" which was played in clubs in the North East UK2005: Started up my own band (SugarStone) played the BFest, Maryport Blues fest etc and wrote a couple of my won tracks (soon to be released)2006: Went Solo, Sang Live on CFM Radio for Help a CFM Child Appeal ("He Called Me Baby" recording)2007: Sang in various places in uk, the most memorable being the first and last time I got to sing with my dad (also a singer) 6 weeks before he passed away2008: Was flown to San Fransisco to sing Live with a band, and record.So, what next? who knows?....just going with the flow .Would love to hear from any of you, all your support and storys so far has inspired and driven me on.
