About Me

Hypnotic. You will not be able to get these songs out of your head. The soulful sounds on this album will move your body involuntarily and the deeply honest verse will take your mind to a place of truth. The album is uniquely filled with different styles of music and vocals to make up an eclectic and soulful collection. Ranging from deep love and heartbreak (“Like Water”, “For the Best”) to songs about the haters, inner strength and inspiration. (“Speak In2 the Mic” “ Breathe”) Mr. Rhett George wrote all 16 tracks and 6 of which was co- written with songwriters Sumayah McRae and Q. Darrington. Rhett recorded mostly in Chicago with producers Byron “Bang” Walker and Dion “D.L.S” Smith and New York based producer Mike Lansky. Mr. George also produced all the vocal arrangements on all 16 songs. The opening track “ Oh Yeah “ is a smooth and sexy upbeat banger with smooth vocals that talks about having only one thing on your mind. That is to please the one you love as soon as night falls. On the pop influenced “ Find your way back to me” Rhett raises the question, when he’s kissing you, are you thinking of me? When he’s holding you, do you wish it were me? Confidently reassuring that if not, you can always come back. If you have ever been torn between two lovers and must choose or been heart broken by a shocking inevitable demise of a relationship, one will surely relate to the in the pocket flow on “ The- Break up” and the storytelling delivery on the emotional “For the best”. The album ends on an uplifting high. In the final track Rhett encourages you to relax your mind, take things in stride and all the lessons that have been learned apply them to the world and simply just “ Breathe”It was a cold and yet calm winter. The young parents spent another night of anticipation waiting and watching the iconic classic movie “Gone With The Wind”. The next day a new life had arrived into the world. Toronto’s native Rhett Gerren George was born to West Indian parents on February 6th. His mother Cynthia Job George was already an established singer with her sister in the Caribbean, ministering to the world through gospel music. With singing / music in his blood, Rhett had an ear for music and at the age of 3 he was already humming along to the hit songs on the radio. He started piano lessons at the age of 4 and tap dancing at 6. His dance teacher recognized his talent and incorporated jazz, hip hop and modern dance in his lessons. Rhett idolized two great and well known tap dancers, Sammy Davis Jr. and Gregory Hines and dreamt of becoming as famous as they were some day.Growing up as an only child, he entertained himself by writing melodies, which he started at the age of 10. Given a stereo with a mic, he would record various tunes, thus imagining his dreams of becoming an entertainer. A great singer, dancer, song writer and actor were his characteristics of being a great entertainer and which he hope to accomplish some day.In high school he landed summer jobs in shows at Paramount Amusement Parks as a singer and dancer. With his confidence building and a taste of his dreams come true, he proudly sang the American and Canadian National Anthems at Toronto Raptors home games.Rhett started working professionally at a young age. He was featured in commercials and performed as the entertainment at weddings. He was also featured in numerous shows such as “Rent” alongside Jill Scott, “Aida” with Heather Headley and Deborah Cox. He can be heard on the “Sweet Charity” revival album with Christina Applegate, singing his solo “Rhythm as Life”. Rhett’s musical influences consist of artists like the great Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson and more current artists such as Musiq Soulchild, John Legend, Monica, Maxwell, Jonny Lang, Pink, Marc Broussard, James Morrison and D’Angelo, to name a few.Rhett also worked with some great artists such as the late James Brown, Mariah Carey, da brat, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklyn and Michelle Williams.Rhett enjoys and sings all types of music but R&B Soul is where his heart lies. His smooth rich tone and range is what captivates audiences when giging in his live sets. He also enjoys writing and poetry. He has written and produced for local artists in Toronto and New York. His only reward is the satisfaction it brings when he hears another talented artist performing his melody and lyrics.Rhett continues to perform and writes music in hopes of having his dreams come true so that he can share his gifts to the entire world. He is considered a multitalented performer and a triple threat to many in the biz. Through persistence and patience, maybe one day the world will soon discover this pationate entertainer, “Mr. Rhett George”.
