About Me

MyGen Profile Generator
The Linton Tavern is equidistant from Norwich and London. I am not. Actually I possibly am. I am 201 miles from Norwich and 206.8 miles from London. Accounting for urban sprawl, I am pleased that I offer a similar location to the Tavern. I do not, however provide the same services. We don't even have a Corby trouser press. We do have 3 toasted sandwich makers though and as such are able to offer catering to small groups of pre-booked guests. Anyway, I live near Manchester, work and do other stuff. Some of the stuff I do includes indulging in music wherever possible, tai chi on a Thursday and generally leaving the country when holiday time and funds allow. I have a terrible Wanderlust and a penchant for sporks. I once was involved in the inception of the sporchife but as Shania Twain was unable to make the product launch, it was shelved. I have a languages degree which is useful when you want to overhear Swedish people on the train. I have a basic food hygiene certificate too, which isn't at all useful. Meat is verboten in our house, as are horseshoe crabs and bridges. Things that are welcome in my house include kindly friends, savoury snacks (especially houmous) and Trivial Pursuit. I can't cook much but I can fondu and make cocktails, which usually alleviates the worry and stress caused by cooking. That's about it.

Keep running up that hill...

So, I've started to run. Not in a metaphorical sense as that's not new. I've entered the Manchester 10km run in May for the hell of it and to see if I can get some sense of achievement. I'm also looki...

That's it for another year!

I'm back from my little Pearl Jam trip now, it's 6:50am, I'm at work and I would really rather be asleep. First off, Pearl Jam were amazing in Leeds and Arnhem. They never seem to tire and getting 'I ...

Deftones last night

Deftones finally came round last night. There was a lot of anticipation and the opening part of the set was atmospheric and intense, but for goodness sake, Chino, lose the reverb! It sounded good on P...

Back home

We made it home in one piece after our little jaunt round Italy. Still a bit tired and busy doing laundry and catching up with people but I can attest to being able to live on tomato-based foods for 2...

Getting on a bit me

I think I must be. I don't particularly look forward to birthdays anymore. A bit like New Year - always promise disappointment and a look back to realise I haven't done everything I set out to do in ...
