Berischa

Pedro Berischa was born in Caracas ,Venezuela on December 20 ,1957. At age 9 somebody gave him the Beatles album "Help"and automatically fell in love with Rock and Roll.At 12 his father taught him the basic chords in guitar but is at 15 when he really starts playing the instrument whith friends in highschool and in the neiborhood.He spent time after school listening to Eric Clapton,Santana,LedZeppelin ,Yes,Humble Pie and especially Wishbone Ash records from whom he tried to learn the chords of the songs and the lead guitar licks.In 1978, he and an old friend Enrique Figueroa who plays the drums ,decided to found a cover band just for fun,and get involved another friends,Luis Canizares and "el Zancudo"and start playing in parties,but never profesionally.They named the band "Amethyst",due to Pedro influences,since is his favorite gem stone and as he was working in his family jewelry business.The band changed of bass player and Ricardo Robleto is the new member.With Robleto,the band starts writing its own material and won several band contests,3th place in Radio Capital Contest,1th place in Venevision's tv show "El Show de Richard".In 1981 Pedro plays with his friend Franco de Vita's band "Icaro" in El Poliedro de Caracas ,opening to Menudo"before 15,000 people.In 1982 the band recorded a shared album,with other rock bands "Venerock" and Pedro's song "Tu Tipo de Mujer"is aired in Radio.In 1983 ,the band does a serie of concerts in diferent places and in 1984 another Pedro's song cowritten with Robleto "Caracas"is aired in Radio Caracas Radio,no bad for a bunch of kids that never made the living out of music since each one had his own profession.In 1994 Pedro Berischa moved to the Unites States, since then,even though once again dedicated to the jewelry business,he never stoped making music.Now days he finally quit jewelry and is working in Sam Ash Music and decided to record his music in his small home studio ,since never funded any band in USA,he sings and plays all the instruments in all the tracks.Now after always been writing in Spanish,he now is also writing in English and doing some Instrumentals too. He never stoped dreaming and his pasion for music is stronger than ever,but at the end,songs are worthless without anybody listening to them,that is why here is some samples of his work and you are invited to be the judge.
