It must blow to be a band from Derby that makes loud guitar music. Every review you read is going to say the same word and that word is 'Cable'. The city seems full of bands in debt to the late Cable, either in their musical style or their ambition. Difference is, Younogodie deserve it. They have the same unforced quality to their songs where you just get the feeling that writing them was as natural as breathing. Not to mention having a shared interest in monolithic powerhouse drummers.
Damn You! Nottingham
"Younogodie’s rhythmically varied, brilliantly vitriolic ‘Full House’ standing out amongst the heavier material on the record" - High Voltage Magazine
"They have a lot going on; some great harmonies, pounding beats and some sharp melodic guitars, it’s raw and smart, up to date but doesn’t quite sound the same as everything else out there." - LeftLion Magazine
"YouNoGoDie’s refreshing and energetic songs were reminiscent of Fugazi at their best and musically could not be faulted" - E-Gigs Review 2007
"It would be all too easy for their self-titled debut to sound mundane and run-of –the-mill, but YouNoGoDie simply refuse to settle down to the title of ‘also rans’.
This is a grand way to announce themselves to the world" - National Student Magazine UK
"The album has an excellent mix of songs and is definately an album to put on before a night out. be sure to listen to the hidden final carousal music; slightly wierd, slightly disturbing and a suitable effigy for this band. May their eternal spirit live on!" - Sandman Magazine
