Brent "B.B." Barcus has toured the world with recording artists Shania Twain, SheDaisy, dcTalk, Michael W. Smith, and Steven Curtis Chapman. He's a talented player with pro guitar chops, strong musicianship, and an electric performing style. Additionally, B.B. is a good man - kind, thoughtful, and humble. It is this one-two punch of musicianship and personal character that has kept him busy as a sideman to the stars.Brent Barcus is a busy man. A very busy man. Just off an intense two-year world tour with country music megastar, Shania Twain, he's already jumped into an equally ambitious and challenging project. His own album. Teaming up with his very talented wife, singer/songwriter, Miley, the two have formed Miley & B.B., a pop duo on a mission. "We're not doing any gigs right now," B.B. told ProView. "I did so many gigs on the Shania Twain tour. I'm in studio mode now."A solo project is something B.B. has had in mind for a very long time. ProView spoke to him in detail about his own creative process and how KORG products are an integral part of it. "I have a Trinity V3 PRO X and the Electribe EA1. I use the PRO X every day. I love it!" he exclaimed. "It's my daily sequencer. And I've got the KAOSS Pad too. They are staples in my studio."B.B. describes the process of being able to create original music as being akin to painting on a canvas. "It really just starts with getting the right feeling for a song. And then I sit with my Korg controller hashing out drums, kicks, snares, and getting the bass down." And when the painting is finished, it just might end up being a masterpiece.
