6L6 is a band from the greater Leland/Earlville area. and while that may not sound exciting, that's because it's really not. but we do feel that our music is exciting and fun. we don't wear black, or makeup, or black makeup. but we do wear clothes, so it's a safe show for the whole family! we do try to keep things high energy. most of the credit for that goes to jeff ekblad, lead singer and guitarist. he does the lyrical writing and brings most of the ideas to the table. tim ludwig lays down the low end with much style and skill. kevin keller adds the overtones with keys and synthesizer. john ekblad keeps it all on track with percussion.the way we approach writing our songs is this: a member comes to the band with an idea, a part, or a bunch of parts to a song and then everyone adds their own part and input until it's a finished piece. no single member shoulders the burden of writing and thinking creatively.right now we are in the process of recording a six track EP. good friend justin o'connell is our man behind the mixer making it happen. we hope to be able to get a finished product out to you guys by christmas.we're working on t-shirts and stickers in the mean time. if anyone is interested in booking us, please leave a message in our inbox and we will promptly reply. we're open to playing anywhere, which should come as no surprise. now if we could just figure out how to get our music onto this site
