The WPBPD Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of the following units: Homicide, Violent Crimes, Crimes Against Children, Property Crimes, Auto Theft, Economic Crimes and Pawn. If you have information concerning ANY crime, please contact us and the information will be provided to the appropriate investigating unit.
Established in 1894, the West Palm Beach Police Department currently employs 310 sworn officers. The department is divided into the following bureaus: Field Operations (Patrol, Traffic, K-9, Aviation, Water Catchment), Support Services (Training, Recruitment, Community Response) , Investigative Services (Criminal Investigation, Special Investigations) and Critical Services (Dispatch, Property &Evidence,Records).
The city is divided into three (3) service divisions. The Divisions are bordered by the following boundaries. Division One (North) (North- city limit (Riviera Beach), South- Banyan Blvd., East- Intercoastal Waterway and West- I-95); Division Two (South) (North- Banyan Blvd., South- city limit (Lake Worth), East- Intercoastal Waterway and West- I-95); Division Three (West)- All areas incorporated located West of I95.

The West Palm Beach Police Department polices an extremely diverse and fluctuating population. The city is the county seat of Palm Beach County and one of the principal cities in the South Florida metropolitan area (Palm Beach Co., Broward Co. and Miami- Dade Co.). The City of West Palm Beach is the most populous city in Palm Beach County, Florida. According to the University of Florida's 2006 estimates, the city has a population of 107,617 and is 58.2 sq mi. Being the county seat, the city sees a huge fluctuation in population due to a large number of the county's population who work and play within the city limits. The city is also host to various annual festivals, concerts, cultural and athletic events.>
