The band came together in spring 2002 after the submission of a demo from front-man Oliver Oppermann to record a short CD with 4 tracks.
Out of the studio session a friendship quickly arose from the four metal maniacs, who all had a love for exactly composed, melodic songs that mixed classic metal with modern industrial influences.
All songs, including lyrics and main riffs are composed by Oliver Oppermann alias Steam, and were refined by Kai Reuter with his original way of playing the guitar and Philip Candas on drums.
The recording took place in Kai Reuter's Beatbox Rehearsal Studios in Hanover.
The recording producers were Kai Reuter and Philip Candas. Bass player Cyborg Haines thinks the songs reflect the cool underground metal scene, supplemented with virtuosity and groove. The band's experience and musical diversity distinguishes their sound.
From the beginning, it was clear that their music had great potential, so the quartet decided to bring a band called "The Ordeal" to the light of the day and bring it out of the underworld.
The fiendish musical claw of the band THE ORDEAL, founded by frontman Oliver Oppermann, descends upon us with a vengeance, shredding the thin skin of reality.
Influenced the great heavy bands of the 70s, the band was established in 2002, in an era overwhelmed by uninspired, commercial and standardized computer music.
Burning guitar riffs and virtuoso solos over a whipping heavy bass and drum section push the mystical lyrics and melodic voice of
The Ordeal straight into the middle of your musical senses.
