üka

üka is the solo artist name of Yuka Kurihara, a Bristol-based Japanese singer-song writer who started music making in February 2008. Using a laptop and playing instruments such as cello, keyboards and the acoustic guitar, Yuka makes tunes that are influenced mainly by electrinoca, trip-hop, folk and classical music.

Yuka also sings and plays the cello for a post-rock band This Is My Normal State.

As well as her main projects, Yuka also collaborates with some other musicians, as a singer and/or a cellist.
