CERES is a unique four-hectare park dedicated to community and environmental initiatives and is recognised as one of the most visited environmental centres in Australia. It is land with a rich and colourful history.
Environmental Programs
We provide exciting and diverse environmental, engery and cultural education programs for schools and other groups.
Trails, Energy Parks and Villages
Follow the trails to learn about global warming, water conservation, waste minimisation, the history of the site and the future of our society. Explore the Origin Energy Park and Origin Energy Eco House. Learn about Indonesian, African and Wurundjeri life at the villags during CERES cultural eveants.
Sustainable Agriculture
The CERES Organic Farm is fully certified by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA) as a Biodynamic Farm. On Saturdays there is a market that sells fresh Organic and Biodynamic produce, frshly baked sourdough bread and a range of locally made craft items and recycled clothing. The farm is alohome to Dexter Cattle, Nubian/Sannan Goats, Isa Brown Chickens and other small animals. The farm strives to demonstrate sustainable practices by being inclusive of education and training, community and the environment.
CERES Cafe
Serves delicious meals, snack, cakes and coffee, including organic ingredients grown on-site (when available). Open seven days a week and family friendly.
CERES Permaculture and Bushfood Nursery
Indulge your senses. Taste, touch, smell, hear and see your way through the seasons whilst exploring alternative options to mainstream horticulture. Offers a unique experience for all ages, cultures and aspirations.
Events and Festivals
Inspired by the cycle of the year and our dynamic community, our events include the Autumn Equinox Harvest Festival and the famous Return of the Sacred Kingfisher Festival. Come and be a part of the festivities!
CERES Sustainability Projects
Waste water reuse, renewable energy and the sustainable school programs provide a real life working example for all.
Site Groups
CERES is also home to The Alternative Technology Association, LETS (Local Exchange and Trading System), Chook Club, Baking Group, Bike Club, Community Gardens and a variety of art and craft groups. These groups provide opportunities to learn new skills that support a more sustainable lifestyle.

CERES is an award-winning Community Environmental Park run by a voluntary committee of management. We are not for profit organisation and raise money through our programs and on-site enterprises.
