With little more than wood molding with drawn on guitar stings, tennis rackets and a penchant for vocal guitar riffs, The Yorkers sprang forth. Formed in the early 1980's by precocious youngsters, co-founders Jon "Jenny" Alvarado and Linda "Lucifer" Alvarado, The Yorkers blossomed into underground cult heroes on the Fenton music scene with early standards like "It Belongs to Your Road", "Teddies And Koalas", and the confessional "Dusty Road." Blending their individual styles of earlier solo efforts such as Linda's "Los Angeles Is Cool" and Jon's "Dince Ta Dince" The Yorkers were able to pioneer a style that became known as the "Fenton Sound". Recruiting Todd "Pea Pod" Stamos, whom was previously known locally as, "That Fat Kid Down The Street", on the cardboard box drum kit, The Yorkers original line up was complete. Unfortunately because of ineffective management and an internal struggle for creative control, The Yorkers disbanded in 1986. Reunion rumors have thus far been just that, rumors... Regardless of what the future holds for the three band members, we'll always have the memories of when they invited us to, "come up and see us sometime." Oh Yeah!!!
