V-103 is thrilled to announce the return of Porsche Foxx to the airwaves on our station! Welcome back, Porsche!
Porsche entertains her listeners every time she hits the airwaves. Civic organizations, youth organizations, schools, citizens groups and local municipalities have recognized her tireless efforts with numerous awards.
Foxx's sincere generosity was publicly acknowledged by the Governor who proclaimed June 6th as Porsche Foxx Day in Atlanta and the state of Georgia. The little girl from Kansas City, Missouri, who got her start in music as an alto saxophone and guitar musician, fell in love with being a television and radio personality. She has always enjoyed entertaining audiences behind the microphone and in front of the camera and has not looked back since.
The innovative radio deejay began her on-air career in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at radio station KCAT-AM while attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Upon graduating with a degree in Speech and Drama, she moved on to Power 92.3 in Little Rock, Arkansas followed by KISS 92.5 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After receiving industry recognition as one of the hottest on-air personalities, she moved her brand of lively audience interaction and silky, sophisticated delivery to 106.5 WAMO in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Rocked the Boxat MAGIC 102.1 in Houston. Porsche also worked at top-40 stations such as Star 104.5 in Philadelphia and B 98.5 in New Jersey before taking the Atlanta market by storm. She Rocked The Box in Atlanta on V-103 WVEE radio for 6 years while consistently ranking while holding down the 2pm-6pm Afternoon Drive time slot.
When Porsche Foxx joined WVEE 103 in Atlanta, she made history by becoming the first woman to hold the coveted Afternoon Drive radio show in the Atlanta Urban radio market, and the first African American woman to hit #1 in that time slot, she held that position for six years in the Atlanta market.
Porsche has collected coats, toys and school supplies for children and the homeless during her signature 28-hour coat, school supplies and toy drives. She also raised money to help bury the Lucas family who experienced the worst murder-suicide in the state of Georgia. She encouraged the community to join her as she has led the charge to raise over $800,000 for various charitable causes in the Atlanta Metro community.
Her lifetime dedication to music and her unselfish level of commitment has made her the People's Choice and one of the most recognized and respected radio personalities in the urban radio market. She has demonstrated a greater sense of responsibility through the Porsche Foxx Community Force (PFCF) which she launched as a vehicle to build better communities; to create partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, community based organizations and other prominent members of the local communities to bring about measurable changes.
This Foxy Star has been recognized as one of Atlanta Top 100 Black Women of Influence by the Atlanta Business League. The greatest honor of her career came as she was selected to carry the torch during the 2004 Olympic Torch Relay. The Torch was carried by athletes, public figures and thousands of individuals who were selected for their own ability to inspire and overcome challenges within their own local communities.
To say that I am honored and humbled is an understatement. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be able to participate in such a symbolic, memorable event. My parents taught my sisters and me to always do our best and to give back. I accepted the honor of carrying the Olympic Torch on behalf of my family and all those who contribute their time, energy and resources to the Porsche Foxx Community Force and other like efforts.
