Since joining Phattape in 2003, DjDce has sought after bringing nothing but the best in underground hiphop to PhatTape listeners, as well as raising the bar on the presentation of the show. Responsible for introducing and producing the shows brand and format, DjDce has worked behind the scenes in for many years across a variety of fields. Featuring production, cuts, engineering or artwork on over 30 releases to date; heading up Brisbane label Karsniogenics Records and fulltime Dj for the reknowned 750 REBELS, LAZY GREY, BROTHERS STONEY and MISS BROWN, DJDCE’s contribution to the growth of the Australian hiphop scene is nothing to scoff at.

Phattape’s resident young gun in the game heads up the show each week bringing the latest dopest realist shit out there. Recruited in 2006 by DjDce, Chubba’s passion and keen ear for the street clearly sets him a cut above the rest when it comes to what’s hot and what’s simply shit. His introduction of Phattape’s now infamous “Break Of The Week” segment shows Chubbadubbed’s true talents in digging. A fiend for the wax, his breaks knowledge extends beyond safe realms of sanity, and Phattape is blessed to share in this marvel each and every week.

Cutting his teeth in producing beats , Chubbadubbed will be the next producer to watch out for in ya favourite liner notes. Meantime, Chubs is the most prolific Phattape member maintaining and running our online content, so get at him with ya requests and demos.

Name: DjComplex
Role: Resident DJ / Co-Host

DjComplex came to Phattape part time in 1997, then in 1999 took over the reins with Sean B post DjKatch’s departure. After some 7 years solid Complex took leave from the show at the close of 2004, returning in mid 2008 to the phattape airwaves. A seasoned club Dj devoted to true hiphop and the art of Djin’, Complex solidified his position in the Brisbane / Gold Coast Hiphop scene among the A-Listers with his style on heavy rotation both in the club and on air.

Another Brisbane hiphop stalwart, Complex has worked in the industry in many capacities, from Tour DJ for seminal Breakbeat act FaTTDExx, Co-Host / DJ on Radio Metro... to behind the scenes roles with Hydrofunk Records and most recently Karsniogenics.

Our resident mix Dj on Phattape, Complex digs deep each week droppin hot underground joints of all era’s and styles…not to mention his passion for UK hiphop! He was also one of the first Dj’s to take notice of Dce early on and show him some of the ropes!

Name: Sean Bsta
Role: Crooner / Co-Host

Phattape’s veteran host with most, Sean B joined the show in 1995 as co-host with Dj Katch. Taking over fulltime once Katch moved on, Sean’s commitment as host extended some 11 years before a brief departure in 2007 to his recent return in 2009.

Sean’s no stranger to hiphop radio. He first debuted on air in Melbourne in 1990, then Cairns in 1992 before moving to Brisbane in 1995. Sean’s credentials in Australian Hiphop’s early days are well documented. Having produced and rapped on early releases by Lazy Grey and Brad Strut, to his production work with the Resin Dogs in their birth stages, Sean has been a longtime stayer in what’s now become a thriving scene for well over a decade.

Sean B’s performance credits both as an MC and a Dj see him sit well within the realms of Aus hiphop royalty, having taken the stage with the likes of [DJ SHADOW, SCRATCH PERVERTS, RUNAWAYS, MR THING, A-TRACK, BEASTIE BOYS, J-5, THE ROOTS, BEP, MARK RAE, DJ NOIZE, GURU and more]
