Very original arraingement..creative and adventurous Chord structure.. I like it cause it's creative and genuine. Good Back vocal harmonies this song is kind of like a country song/ getting down to The Beatles... my moms dancin around behind me.. I think she really likes it :) Its a pump you up song for sure... In my own opinion its really unique! ----Joggyn Smyler, from Allentown, Pennsylvania on 21Mar2007 and --Annetta Sings from Sault Ste Marie, Canada on 11Apr2007 www.garageband.com "Knock the sleep out" Great track!! I really like this song, and this is why 1) Original, in the production, layering, writing, lyrics and over all instrumentation. 2) Texture. 3) The mood it projects. The organic sound coming from the drum kit as he marches his way threw the snare and top tom, showing he is a true master of percussion. The ascending power is incredible, the way he builds up to the bridge. With the vocals, there clean, top notch, and deliver the lyrics well. When there are layered with the backing vocals, the outcome is incredible, it pushes and delivers the chores extremely well. There are so many great things I can say about how the energetic guitar and the verb-a- tone placed on it. That little lick, they way it builds the chorus, and the run down da,da,da,da,da at the end of the chorus. The mood this song has is incredible. it project's on the listener a range of influence and style..., one second you’re walking down the street's of New Orleans with 30 sets of beads around you neck looking for a bar to end the night in, and the next thing you’re in England watching the Beatles record Abby Road. Very cool song. ----Zaida and Zander from Elkford, British Columbia, Canada on 13Apr2007 at www.Garageband.com Great vocal harmonies The vocals and lyrics hit me with a strength which makes it difficult to ignore. I am thrown into a musical roller coaster a’la 60srock with Robert Gunnarssons voice as a massive, never ending ensign bearer. A Paul McCartney with a little crispy and nasal touch which makes his voice exciting. “Unborn baby” is a fantastic song with a lot of variation in the harmonies. “Bo och Malen” is completely different from the rest of the songs. I am transferred into the 80-90s. It has a great harmony and got stuck on my brain. I sang the song a long time after hearing it. Another favourite is “Ashes of Gold” with great vocal harmonies and Beatles feeling. “Turn all the rain clouds away” is a cool song with awesome vocal harmonies and strings in a perfect mix and great drums. With an even sharper production this songs could get as good as gold. ----Elin Fischer, drummer in the band Marge, in www.voolife.se 2005-12-11 ***** Ashes of Gold - review **************************************** This is a wonderful CD which I have played a lot since I got it. I like the sound picture and that special guitar sound – a mix of Sitar and George Harrison Guitar and 1967. My favourites on this CD is “Alex met Betty” A brilliant song with awesome guitar riffs and E.L.O. feeling. The chorus line with vocal harmonies that makes me sing along every time. “River of Gold”. A great song with a lot of influence from George Harrison. Great choir and that special guitar sound. “Days of Rain and Shine” A nice meditative and acoustic song. “I just met God” Here the guitars are taken to the edge and gives a feeling of “I am the Walrus”. I am back in 1967 but still here. Exiting song and the piano is awesome. A lot of dynamics one of the top songs. “East luck 10” Laid back country. Great chorus line and I sing along again. “Ashes of Gold” What an awesome, cool intro! Great song and voice. Now I sing along all the time. “Did I know you?” The choir intro is wow! Real great melody. It’s like John and George should have written a song together. Awesome when the choir and chorus line sings the lyrics simultaneously. This is a very personal and special collection of songs. There are a lot of greetings to George and John but the songs have their own personal profile. The melodies are wandering their own unexpected paths and the guitars likewise. What a CD wow!!!! ----At www.voolife.se Stefan Olsson, singer/songwriter Orsa, Sweden, 2006-05-12
