Sergio Vieira

Compositor, violonista e cantor, iniciou a sua trajetória musical tocando em bandas marciais e fanfarras em Volta Redonda - RJ aos 12 anos de idade. Logo depois começou a tocar um violão que na verdade tinha sido dado por seu pai à sua irmã, que havia iniciado o curso de Medicina e não tinha tempo para tocar. Aos 20 anos mudou-se para a cidade do Rio de Janeiro, onde estudou Harmonia Funcional e Percepção Musical com Ian Guest, além de Arranjo e Orquestração com Roberto Gnatalli na UNIRIO. Em 1986 participou do I Seminário Brasileiro da Música Instrumental em Ouro Preto - MG ao lado de grandes nomes da MPB, entre os quais: Toninho Horta (idealizador/coordenador), Dori Caymmi, Helio Delmiro, Rafael Rabello, Nana Caymmi, Nivaldo Ornelas, Nico Assumpção e Wagner Tiso. Desde então vem se apresentando em diversas capitais do Brasil e gravou, em 1999 o CD Maracutaia com composições próprias, que foi muito elogiado pela crítica especializada e por nomes importantes da MPB entre os quais: Victor Biglione, Fátima Guedes e Toninho Horta. Apaixonado pela cultura brasileira, implantou diversos projetos musicais na região Sul Fluminense (Rio de Janeiro), trabalhando com nomes importantes do cenário artístico brasileiro e internacional, entre os quais: Toninho Horta, Lô Borges, Victor Biglione, Alceu Valença, Los Hermanos, Turíbio Santos e Ithamara Koorax. Produziu um show com Paulo Moura em 1997 em Barra Mansa - RJ que originou o CD, gravado ao vivo "Paulo Moura e os Batutas - Pixinguinha" - Rob Digital que foi o vencedor do Prêmio Sharp de Melhor Grupo de Música Instrumental de 1997 e de Melhor Produtor de Música Instrumental de 1997 para Paulo Moura. Este CD permaneceu na lista dos 10 melhores CD's indicados pela Barnes & Nobles de junho a dezembro do mesmo ano em Nova York. Atualmente vem trabalhando em novos projetos, sendo o principal deles o de gravação do seu segundo CD, no qual estará apresentando um inédito repertório de fusão entre rítmos da cultura musical brasileira, que contará com a participação de nomes importantes da MPB e que deverá ser lançado nas principais capitais do Brasil, Europa, Estados Unidos e Japão._____________________________________________________ _______BIOGRAPHY SERGIO VIEIRAComposer, guitarist and singer, began his musical path playing in martial bands and fanfares in Round Turn - Volta Redonda - RJ to the 12 years of age. To the 20 years he moved for the city of Rio de Janeiro, where he studied Functional Harmony and Musical Perception with Ian Guest, besides Arrangement and Orchestration with Roberto Gnatalli in UNIRIO. In 1986 it participated in the I Brazilian Seminar of the Instrumental Music in Ouro Preto - MG beside great names of MPB, among the ones which: Toninho Horta , Dori Caymmi, Helio Delmiro, Rafael Rabello, Nivaldo Ornelas, Nico Assumpção and Wagner Tiso. Ever since it comes if presenting in several capitals of Brazil and it recorded, in 1999 the CD Maracutaia with own compositions, that it was very eulogized by the specialized critic and for important names of MPB among the ones which: Victor Biglione, Fátima Guedes and Toninho Horta. Impassioned by the Brazilian culture, it implanted several musical projects in the Fluminense South area (Rio de Janeiro), working with important names of the Brazilian and international artistic scenery, among the ones which: Toninho Horta, Lô Borges, Victor Biglione, Alceu Valença, Los Hermanos, Turíbio Santos and Ithamara Koorax. It produced a show with Paulo Moura in 1997 in Barra Mansa - RJ that originated the CD, live engraving "Paulo Moura and the Batutas - Pixinguinha" - Digital Rob Records that he was the winner of the Prêmio Sharp of Better Group of Instrumental Music of 1997 and of Better Producing of Instrumental Music of 1997 for Paulo Moura. This CD stayed in the list of 10 better suitable CD's for Barnes & Nobles of June to December of the same year in New York. Now it is working in new projects, being the main of them the one of recording of his second CD, in which will be presenting an unpublished coalition repertoire among rítmos of the Brazilian musical culture, that it will count with the participation of important names of MPB and that it should be thrown in the main capitals of Brazil, Europe, United States and Japan.
