About Me

Ok well, myspace is a bit limiting to describe the whole me so this is basically my DJ and MC profile. I have a few alter egos on the go: I'm an Actor/Acting Student too. I dig performing in and viewing Film & Theatre productions, everybody needs a creative outlet and that is mine! I also get fulfillment from Yoga, other relaxation techniques and of course, beautiful things - including the fairer sex (that's women if you didn't get it!). I am on Facebook if you like: Benjamin Wehrheim. Now for the music stuff...
I first became interested in Electronic Music 1989 after listening to DJ Cut Nice and JayDee on Scratch FM and from buying albums by groups like Public Enemy, House of Pain and the Beastie Boys.
I started putting pen to paper and writing my own rhymes in Primary School in 1989 and pretty much clunking the stop and record buttons on old cassette players to create some kinda mix. One night I was sitting up and tuning through the FM dial and stumbled upon a chap by the name of Colin Bridges on what turned out to be 92.1 RTR FM with Colin being the Godfather of Dance Music in Perth. This was my first proper taste of Underground Dance Music and from then on I would also tune into numerous shows like Auditory Spiral, Full Frequency, Rhythm Trippin', to name a few.By late 1991 I first tasted the Nightclub scene, well, all ages Nightclub scene and each Friday and/or Saturday night I would go with friends to the Factory all ages dance club on Murray St. in Perth city.I partied out in the Perth Rave scene in 1992 and by 1993 at the age of 16 I was mixing it up, or trying to anyhow. I started hitting the 'real' clubs like Berlin and James St. and was pretty much a regular at Eon, the Firm, DC's, and the legendary Drum & Bass venue - Drum Club. To a lesser extent I attended the Freezer, Aqua and Infirmary.
I've played various sub-genres of underground Dance Music over the years at a few nightclub gigs, a multitude of private parties, Chill Out/Recovery Parties, FM radio shows 'Suburban Beats' (93.7 Heritage FM), a couple of times on 'Auditory Spiral' (92.1 RTR FM) and Internet Radio 'Invert' (Perth) and 'Kranky Digital' (Brisbane).
I promoted a weekly night called 'Uberphonik' at the Palace Nightclub concentrating on the sounds of 2 Step/UK Garage and Breakbeat and support events in collaboration with Mad For It Productions at Platinum Bar in Metropolis Super Club, Northbridge.
I have a bunch of Oldschool anthems, Drum & Bass, Breakbeat, 2 Step/UK Garage and the odd set of Bboy Electro but I'm really diggin' the Nu-Rave sound at the moment, bumbaklaaat!
To the present day and I now live in Brisbane where I study Acting for Theatre, Film & Television.
