San Antonio Native, UTSA Technical Communications Major, Published Poet, Aspiring Author. Hopeless Romantic that thrives on John Hughes and The Cure, Stuck in the eighties, though technically I wasn't pop-culturally awake at the time. Started a creative production group called No Memo Productions that occasionally gets junkmail from credit cards, has dwindled down to a membership of three, and has started a Monthly Open Mic Poetry Reading called Poetry Picante every 2nd Tuesday at the Central San Antonio Library (Soon Releasing a 1st Annual Compilation called "The Blend"). Recent events have plunged me back into writing, where for eight months I had been absent . 4 times published in compilations of Texas or San Antonio Poetry. I self-published a chap book of poetry that will remain in infamy as the great training wheels of my self-publishing career. Existential Christian of sorts... currently wading through a copy of Kierkegaard I never intend to give back to the public library system. Son of a Pastor, therefore coming to terms with my own beliefs one day at a time. There... me in a nut shell.

The Three Question Personality Test
advice to my son
by Peter Meinke
The trick is, to live your days
as if each one may be your last
(for they go fast, and young men lose their lives
in strange and unimaginable ways)
but at the same time, plan long range
(for they go slow; if you survive
the shattered windshield and the bursting shell
you will arrive
at our approximation here below
of heaven or hell).
To be specific, between the peony and the rose
plant squash and spinach, turnips and tomatoes;
beauty is nectar
and nectar, in a desert, saves--
but the stomach craves stronger sustenance
than the honied vine.
Therefore, marry a pretty girl
after seeing her mother;
Show your soul to one man,
work with another;
and always serve bread with your wine.
But son,
always serve wine.
