If you want me to get you on the show, it's real easy, just hit me up. I try to fit in everyone that reaches out eventually, so get at me. If you want to get down with either being featured on this site in an interview, album review, or anything else you got going on, get at me and we'll discuss it. I try to feature artists I'm really feelin' at the time, but that doesn't mean you can't get up with me. If I like what you do, and you have a decent fan base, more than likely I can help you out. Oh yeah, also you gotta have drive. If I don't think you're puttin' in the work, I won't either. Peace and Respect.

A fan of hip hop since the age of 12; straight out the forgotten mist of Toronto, Canada a self inspired producer/emcee by the name of 4th Pyramid was born. Representing the best elements of hip-hop’s latest generation, 4th Pyramid had no intention on waiting for the music industry to recognize his talents. He instead developed his skills himself; by his own means; using the ingenuity and limited resources available to him at the crib on his dad’s computer.
- Definitive Jux
Eyes: Please introduce yourself to the fans just catching on?
4th Pyramid - Yo the name's 4th Pyramid - producer/MC born and raised in Toronto Canada. I am the Drug.
Eyes: What's the Canadian hip-hop vibe right now?
4th: The scene's crazy out here. still has alot of growing up to do. there's alot of talent you just gotta look hard...really hard.
Eyes: The first track I can remember hearing by you was "The Line Up" off of C-Rayz Walz's, Ravipops, and I had to check the liner notes on production and happened to discover you. How did you hook up with C-Rayz? Tell me about that partnership?
4th: Yo the story is very long and I've told it alot in past interviews. At the end of the day I just produced and mixed an entire album with him under our group name THE ANGEL & THE PREACHER the album title is CHAPTER 23. it's been five long years in the making and its done and is like nothing else we ever collaborated on and is the most important thing you need to know about me and C-Rayz Walz!!!!!
Eyes: What are some other collabs you've done that you're particularly proud of?
4th: I spent the whole month of January engineering a bunch of jams for the one and only Chocolate Boy Wonder Pete Rock. I got credits on the new Black Eyed Peas remix CD cause of that and I'll have some credits on his upcoming Nature Sounds album "NY's FINEST". That was definitely a crazy milestone for me. He's a legend and just being around him day in and day out for a month straight took me to new heights artistically. Give thanks.
I'm also working heavily with a really talented mad slept on producer from Montreal called Simahlak. He's producing half of my solo album TWICE AS STRONG with me and he's overseeing the whole project with me. He's signed to A-Trak's label Audio Research and also released stuff on Ninja Tune offshoot label Bully. the kat is a true and living artist. type of dude to hermit in the basement all night and come out with 10 new hits.
Eyes: Do you have any major musical influences/ background that drives you to create tracks? If not, what usually inspires your music?
4th: Yo I love so many different kinds of music. Anger inspires me the most. The haters inspire me. I'm inspired by my brothers. I'm inspired by roots reggae. I'm inspired by street corner musicians. From Madlib to Lil Wayne, funk to rock and roll - I love arabic music (the illest percussion ever!!) -- goood music makes me want to go to the lab and get busy.
Eyes: What artists do you listen to on the regular?
4th: A quick skim through my current playlist in my IPOD and the highlights are: Nightmares on Wax, who just dropped a new instrumental album, pure fire. Lil Wayne's album is mad dope. I just got my hands on this ill King Tubby compilation album called Dub Like Dirt. it's that grimey old vintage reggae from 1975-1977 to get irie blessed to. DILLA (RIP). then I got Tha Alkoholiks and X-Zibit's first albums on regular rotation and I stay bumping the Clipse, I love their sound.
Eyes: Do you think hip-hop is in a good place? If so/not why?
4th: Yea it's in a great place. there's more opportunities than ever to do your thing. it's mad competitive and hard to make a living doing it but there's so many outlets now, there's so many people open to listen to it. it's reaching new peaks every year. I could focus on the negative aspects too cause it definitely exists but why bother. Like my dude Tyranny just told me last night in our drunk stupor that saw us randomly get VIP access to a Kanye West invite only open bar show out here in TO - "Don't be bitter, be better".
Eyes: If you had to define your style with three words, what would they be?
4th: UNPREDICTABLE & hard to tell. 5 words I know but still.
Eyes: What's on the slate in the coming months for you?
4th: NEW 4th Pyramid SOLO ALBUM "TWICE AS STRONG" due out in the Fall of this year. Produced entirely by me and Simahlak going to have a crazy guest lineup too but it's on the hush for now!! I'm 7 tracks deep right now and it's heavy heavy heavy...
Routing North American and European summer tour dates right now!!
Also plans on doing production and MC work with Vast Aire & Vordul of Cannibal Ox, Karniege, Akrobatik and a slew of others!!
Eyes: Where can the fans go to check out your material or maybe cop a little something?
4th: http://www.4thPyramid.com
(my web designer - the one and only mighty Ilango is working on a full redesign -- he is basically the Ron Jeremy of webdesign!!)
http://www.myspace.com/4thPyramid
Eyes: What question are you asked the most when people find out that you're from Canada?
4th: Do people really live in igloos out there....eh?
Eyes: Is there anything else you would like to plug or shout out, or maybe something that most people don't know about you that can shed light on your personality better?
4th: I'm a libra y'all. This music shit is crazy. This experience is the illest most humbling mental challenge ever. You need alot more than common sense to get by -- "I love the way I am and can't nobody out there change me".
Thanks for all the love the support, I promise to keep them hits fantazmically funky & univerally dusty - I'm a stay paying dues till the day I die!!! 1
Eyes: Many thanks and much respect for the interview. We really appreciate it. Stay grindin' and keep doing your thing and shit will be poppin' off all over the place for you. I can't wait to hear what you'll be bringing in the future.
Peace.
Eyes
