Band Website: You're lookin at it!
Band Members: Dave Ellis: Fender Strats, Squire Jazz Bass, Yamaha APX electro-acoustic, Line 6 Pod, Ibanez TS9DX tubescreamer, Marshall and Musicman amps, Cubase SX, drum, bass and synth programming, all vocals and, if I'm really lucky, the odd enthusiastic (ok, drunk then!) guest or two. Special nod here to my son, Ben, for his great guitar work on Freddie's 'Goin' Down' and my own song, 'Unforgiven'. Cheers matey. Nice work. And - I have to say thanks to my youngest guitar trasher, Stevie, for his contribution to 'Crossroads'. Cheers mate. You did good. I owe you a beer, er...I think!
I'd like to give a hardy shout also to Computer Music Magazine because, without those clever little nerds, their first-class tutorials and free software, I doubt whether I'd ever got off the ground with regards computers, sequencing and all that boring technical twoz. Regardless of my production techniques or lack of, thanks guys. Deep down, I luv yer!
Influences: Hank B Marvin and the Shadows, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, the Beatles, Robert Johnson, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Dave Gilmour; Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, SRV, Pink Floyd, Free, Deep Purple, Steve Morse, Clive Bates, Cream, Jeff Beck, Wes Montgomery, Mike Stern, Jimi hendrix, Charlie Parker, Freddie King, BB King, Yes, Little Feat, Ian Duck, Oscar Peterson, Ray Charles, Allman Brothers, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Steve Hillage, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Peter Gabriel, Peter Green, and, last but not least, Scotty Moore (who I first heard when I was about 11 and who's two - yes, 2! -out there solos in Elvis's 'Houndog' blew me right out the window and started me on the long fretboard road!)
Of course, there's a multitude of established and up-coming modern day players and bands like Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Alter Bridge, Nickelback, Cheva, Copper and Black Water Rising, but I think you get my drift by now. At the end of the day, I just love music - period.
Right now, I try to listen to, at least, one new band a day. There is so much talent out there it is almost a full-time job keeping up, but it's the sort of job where 'overtime' can be very rewarding.
Sounds Like: Huh? Well...Me, hopefully, with a bit of this and that thrown in for good measure.
