About Me

begun in the mind of ground chuck, renowned punk, street artist, show promoter, self made drummer... he stopped going to high school when he found the house where sean and i lived on y street. we were just down the street from sacto high school. we had a huge house with a huge yard with a second little house in the garden and a huge garage that we used as band practise space and occaissional shows. the anti-club concept, sean and i were involved in noise church a spontaneous noise happening and everyone who ended up in pollution circus played at one time or another with noise church...we had a drum set and chuckie would turn on his beatbox and play the drums to it... he was good... he put on shows and one time in late 85 or early 86 he put on a show and put pollution circus on the bill. he asked me-todd meszaros, sean powers, bill economy, kevin fischer and ken beasley to play with him as pollution circus. it was at a club in north sacto on arden i beleive a strange place... we had only a few songs put half together and the rest was spontaneous dub/noise/political ranting...we played quite a lot in sacto. we got hooked up with the performing arts club sotodo and played a lot of their happenings. chuck had no drums in the beginning only a fire hydrant some buckets and boxes and cans, sean always played percussion and televisions and tape loops and such...i played super distorted bass in the begining...as part of sotodo there was an election for an art mayor of sacramento, ground chuck won!!! eventually we wrote a lot of songs, i ended up writing the majority although everyone did contribute songs, lyrics and music... i was the vegan/fag/anarchist/activist and my perspective came a bit more across, the others were all vegie or vegan anarchist punks and active in their own ways..we played some great shows, the anarchist gathering 1989 in san francisco has to be one of the most outstanding with mourning sickness, sins of the flesh and subvert and christ on a crutch (the last two i helped talk the folks into letting them on the bill, it was the big queer-core show with mostly homo bands... it was fantastic)- we were a bit known for being radicals in many ways, frome veganism to pot smoking, we were banned from gilman street project for smoking on stage- we were very active bent edge (not straight) we were the original pot edge band...chuck arranged two shows on the capitol steps in sacramento that were also highlight shows.... we had some great times and met some great peolpe and never compromised our beleifs or values, we only did things for fun, benefits, never made a penny and never were out to, we gave more away as it was all about spreading the message... veganism, animal liberation and anarchist revolution......i moved away from sacramento in 1992 and that was the last of pollution circus.... i now live, since 2000, in amsterdam, chuckie is still in sacramento still plays music, bill lives in sf and is still playing music and keeping on, ken is also still in sacramento and playing music, kevin lives in blue lake california and works in a beer brewery, sean lives in arcata area and does radio and music programs for childrens schools... i am still vegan still a punk still as much of an activist as my old vegan hiv+ body lets me be....
