Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I am writing to you on behalf of the Tabernacle Interdenominational Choir, also known as TIC.
The Tabernacle Interdenominational Choir (TIC) is an ecumenical, multi-generational, community based choir which was established in January, 2004. TIC is sponsored by the Tabernacle Evangelical Lutheran Church in Philadelphia Pa, which serves as its base of operations. TIC is a contemporary gospel choir consisting of 30 members from ten different churches in the city of Philadelphia, and representing various denominations including Lutheran, Baptist, COGIC, and AME.
Since our inception, we have endeavored to become an interdenominational choir family that strives to have a close personal relationship with Christ. Our primary goal is to magnify God's name, by helping to bring people to Jesus Christ, developing them to Christ-like maturity, identifying their spiritual giftedness, helping to equip them for ministry in the church, and ultimately for their life’s mission in the world.
During the past four years, TIC has been blessed with the opportunity to minister to youth, young adults, and adults at various churches and events in Philadelphia. In this relatively short period of time, TIC has become a highly sought after concert choir, and has performed at the Wachovia Center for the Philadelphia 76ers, Lance Armstrong Foundation, Philadelphia Mural Arts Division of the City of Philadelphia, annual FLY Lutheran Youth Convention, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Synod Minority Youth Leadership Event (SMYLE), just to name a few.
Seeking to make an impact that goes beyond performing concerts, we are now embarking on a new venture, the establishment of a “TIC Scholarship Fundâ€. It is our prayer that these scholarships will be awarded to matriculating high school seniors who are pursuing higher education. The venue that God has ordained to accomplish this worthy goal is a “Live Recording†of the Tabernacle Interdenominational Choir, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Paschall (Pastor Eric Simmons), 7100 Woodland Ave. at 5:00PM. The proceeds received from the sale of the CDs recorded at this event will be used to establish the scholarship fund.
Because recording a CD is an expensive proposition, we are now in the process of identifying persons and organizations who may be willing to sow seeds into this ministry so that the dream of pursuing higher education may become a reality for some deserving young people who are in need of assistance.
We are therefore soliciting your support, and asking that you prayerfully consider becoming a financial sponsor of our CD project. Any sacrificial gift that you are willing to make toward this effort will be greatly appreciated and will help us realize our vision. By faith we know that God will reward your generosity.
