About Me

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

Music is my passion. I love to sing and play acoustic guitar. I'm an artist at heart and I channel my creativity by writing music and performing in open mic nights in Toronto. I enjoy the dynamics of bilingualism and I earn a living teaching French Immersion. I've combined my love for singing and teaching by creating "Voice Yourself in the Classroom", a workshop intended to help my fellow teacher colleagues to find their natural dynamic speaking voice and maintain it. I am currently writing a book on that subject which I'm hoping to finish shortly! Another one of my goals is to improve my music engineering skills so I can record a couple of my songs and share them with you and the rest of the world! By the way, here are my websites:www.voiceyourselfintehclassroom.com and www.valeriebastien.com

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.valeriebastien.com
Band Members: I'm the only member! I sing and accompany myself on the guitar.
Influences: My taste in music goes to very opposite ends of the spectrum. I love listening to heavy metal, folk guitar and I studied opera. My music writing style is probably closer to pop/folk. Add to this my soft soprano voice! Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Bruce Dickinson, Leonard Cohen, Francis Cabrel, Josh Groban, Jeff Buckley, Evanescence, Chris Cornell, Rob Cavestany, Hawksley Workman, Led Zeppelin and Harmonium are amongst my favorites...
Sounds Like: My music style is a cross between the pop and folk genres with a touch of classical guitar and singing influences. I used to study both therefore I love finger picking and I like to take advantage of the higher part of my soprano register.
Record Label: Unsigned; I play music for fun!
