EGIPT

Osie is a small town with a population of a coupe of thousand. It’s located in the Tuchola Forest. It was here where in 1993, on Michal Dombrowski’s initiative, a rock band EGIPT came into being. For some it’s only a band from a hick town, but for others a great rock group that keeps going regardless of difficulties and constantly sets itself new goals. EGIPT was formed when the rock stage was ruled by bands such as Acid Drinkers, Illusion, and Sweet Noise, which can be heard in the sound of the group. The first years of band’s activity were amazingly successful in the local musical contests (KATAR in Torun, GITARIADA in Aleksandrow Kujawski to name just few), which resulted in a couple of CDs with the studio music. Unfortunately, the recordings have never been released by any of the professional record studios. The image of the band has been changing together with new members joining EGIPT throughout the years. The years 1995-1998 occurred to be good and productive time for the band as they appeared in Radio PIK (national radio), TV3 Bydgoszcz (local TV) and “Rower Blazeja” (“Blazej’s Bike” - a TV programme for teenagers on national TV). In the years 2003/2004 the group was in a crisis; nevertheless, the drummer’s motivation and the founder’s urge to keep rocking brought about to some changes for better. In 2004, Bartosz Iwicki and Marcin Wozniak – both with previous stage experience – became new members of EGIPT. They contributed to its reappearing on the rock music stage with refreshing and vigorous style. During last year, the band has decided to focus on creating new material and promotion of EGIPT on a large scale. EGIPT has played over 300 concerts all over Poland, since it was established – which was 15 years ago. Now we are back!!!
