Hey! Come on in! Drugs to the left, hookers to the right!

About Me

Born in Livingston, NJ, I moved to Brooklyn, NY at age 4 only to return to the Garden State 11 years later. I love New York for its charm, culture, unpredictability and decadence, but I love New Jersey for all the things that you have to have lived here to appreciate.I run a small business based in Brooklyn, though I often can work from wherever I am. My phone rings a lot. I am in it solely for the money.I also work as a sportswriter, which is my passion. Believe me when I tell you, that's not AT ALL about the money. My friends mean the world to me. And while I have an easy time making new ones, it takes a lot to be allowed into my confidence and inner-circle, and even more difficult to move up the hierarchy. As in any kind of relationship, there is nothing I hold more dear than loyalty and honesty in a friendship, and nothing I despise more than their opposites. Being phony and two-faced is just another form of dishonesty.I have a very low tolerance for idiots, and an even lower tolerance for ignorance. Not that I don't act like an idiot now and then, but there is a time and a place. But if you happen to be born an idiot, well, I am willing to forgive and deal with it as long as you recognize your weakness and don't pretend to know what the fuck you're talking about when, clearly, you don't. There's nothing worse than someone talking out of their ass.I am open minded, yet I resist change. I am anal and overly organized, yet to the untrained eye, my living quarters might appear less than tidy. I like to think I am always right and know it all, but I love nothing more than to be proven wrong and taught new things. If I don't respect your opinion, you will always remain on the outside looking in.I love to laugh and have a good time. Even if it's laughing at the stupidest thing. I enjoy the simple things in life. I don't need material things to make me happy, though I can appreciate them when they present themselves.I am wickedly sarcastic, I think political correctness is for retards, and I will say anything about any subject at any time, whether it's to shock, prove a point or just for a cheap laugh. I think people are way too sensative and need to smoke a fatty and chill the fuck out.But remember, I am an equal opportunity ripper. I might make a cruel, heartless joke at your expense, but I will also make them at my own. And I have no problem appreciating others' humor at my expense. It's pretty hard to offend me.I also believe marijuana should be legal, though I don't believe it's for everyone. I have no respect for people who go through life fucked up, but there is a time and a place.Though I respect and admire true faith, I believe orginized religion is responsible for 9/10 of this planet's evil -- afterall, more people have died in the name of God then for any other reason -- while the other 10 percent should be blamed on reality television, MTV and the New York Yankees.I love the 80's. Everything about it. The music, the movies, the pop-culture, and the fact that I didn't have to work for a living during that decade. If knew then what I know now... Youth is definitely wasted on the young.FOR MORE, CHECK OUT MY BLOG: www.mytwocents-sjpsandman.blogspot.com

My Interests

*** ***There is sports. There is music. Everything else is second.Baseball and the New York Mets will always be my first love, while football and the NY Jets will always come second.I don't really like college football or the NBA, though I totally enjoy college hoops. I get really into hockey when the Rangers are good and the playoffs role around, but let's get real, the regular season is a six-month waste of time. When it comes to music, there is very little I don't like. While I definitely have my preferences -- ROCK, CLASSIC ROCK, GLAM ROCK, HAIR BANDS, CLASSIC METAL, THE CRANBERRIES -- there is very little I hate and most of that is hip hop.Rap is not music. It is something else. I am not saying it isn't art, but find another category for it.I love making my own music. I have written hundreds of tunes. I play drums, guitar and piano, and am trying to get better on bass guitar. I also like to sing.I am also currently swept up in the poker craze with the rest of the world.. width="425" height="350" .... width="425" height="350" ..

Movies:

SNOOCH TO THE NOOCH!!!!Movies I love, off the top of my head: Goodfellas -- and most other gangster movies; the first Major League -- and most other sports flicks; Anything by Kevin Smith (Dogma is probably in my top three movies of all time, but I also love Clerks and Clerks II, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Mallrats, Jersey Girl, etc. etc.); RENT!, Good Will Hunting, Moulin Rouge, Rock Star, Hi Fidelity, Rounders, Usual Suspects, Shawshank Redemption, Stealing Home, and pretty much anything with actual intelligence. I love shock comedies, i.e. the American Pie trilogy, Something About Mary and anything else that pushes the envelope. Stoner flicks, like Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and, of course, the greatest stoner movie ever made, Half Baked. And, of course, 80's flicks, especially the works of the great John Hughes!

Television:

Mets baseball, Jets football, other sports -- especially those I have money on -- Baseball Tonight and Sportscenter on ESPN, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Sopranos (I watch a lot of HBO shows, i.e. Deadwood, Entourage, Six Feet Under, Oz), That 70s Show, Star Trek TNG and DS9 (if you think that makes me a geek, step, I'll beam your ass up), oh, and late-night reruns of Quantum Leap.

Books:

"Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. " -- Crash Davis, Bull Durham

Heroes:

Mike Piazza. Anyone willing to sacrifice of themselves for another. The Green Lantern. Teachers that actually give a shit and are not there for the paycheck.Your results:
You are Green Lantern Green Lantern 70% Superman 55% The Flash 55% Spider-Man 50% Catwoman 45% Iron Man 45% Robin 35% Hulk 35% Supergirl 33% Wonder Woman 28% Batman 10% Hot-headed. You have strong
