Nick Rolls: violin. Wilson Cusack: guitar, piano, vocals. Drake Rinks: drums. Paul Schellenberg: bass.
RoseMary III: A young band out of West Michigan, the band ironically has 4 people which you may not guess when first reading there name, but there is a few other things you might not guess about these teenagers a first glance. You might not guess that these 15 years olds, who all just finished there first year of high school, have already recorded a demo CD, have already started building a fan base, and playing gigs around town. “The gigs are mainly coffee shops for now†Cusack explains “ but we try to get a little bigger with each one, with any luck we’ll be playing at some of the bigger venues in town by the end of the yearâ€.
The music and lyrics of this band isn’t exactly your average high school garage band, with a violin playing one of the key components to the band, and the lyrics of the songs a definitely deeper then your average kiddy pool. The hopes for success are high, as are any bands hopes, but in ways you might not expect. Rolls put it this way “ We want what any band wants: to tour the nation, you know do it all, but not for the reasons you might think. We aren’t going for the big house and all the money in the end, we just love playing our music and want to play it for all the people we canâ€.
When its all said and done, we can confidentially say that there is more to RoseMary III then meets the eye, but that’s why these teens don’t rely on the eye to get them there respect, they rely on their music.
“This song is mind-blowingly beautiful. Lot of soul for young musicians. Great song.†–Allen Firouz (said about The People Around Us)
The band plays really well together, especially Cusack and Rolls who seem to play off each other. The band did a great job of transitioning between songs (much better than Kanye did when I saw him!)- Michele Yamazaki
