Electric Gypsys Originally formed in 1998 after the demise of R n’ B band Black Cat Bone, in which Mick Thomas – guitar, Phil O’dell – drums, were members and Dave Hoyle – bass was sound engineer. Electric Gypsys where originally a four piece band with Tony Deemer on bass whilst Dave played keyboards, not actually gigging under this line up. Phil O’dell joined the Marauders whilst the other three stayed together under different names. It wasn’t until 2007 Electric Gypsys reformed as a three piece, with Phil O’dell taking on lead vocals and still playing drums, Dave Hoyle went on bass, Mick Thomas on guitar. Playing a varied style of rock classics e.g.: Hendrix, ZZ Top, Zeppelin etc. as well as some originals which are equally as heavy as the covers. The band recently started gigging to much acclaim and sounding great for a three piece playing this brand of music. They hope to be doing regular gigs over the coming months so if you like your music heavy then check out the Electric Gypsys at a venue near you. A live CD will be available soon.(See also band profiles)
