BiographyJESSE BOLTJesse Bolt Band was originally formed in 1974. We performed from 1975 until 1981, playing live shows, principally in the eastern United States, and then disbanded. We reunited and performed from 1987 until 1990, before disbanding once again. In the year 2000 we decided to record a CD of 11 of our original songs, principally because the music industry was not releasing any new 70's and early 80's style rock, and that there was a potentially huge market for it. After spending most of 2002 in the studio, "The Revelation" was released in March 2003.Songs on "The Revelation" have been compared to Deep Purple, Dio, Judas Priest, Def Lepard, and Iron Maiden. We are definitely inspired and influenced by early British rock bands such as Deep Purple, Wishbone Ashe, and Jethro Tull. We utilize three guitars and intertwine guitar harmonies within the songs whenever possible. We describe our sound as 70's style hard rock, and we hope to introduce our music to the world market. We have reviews in many magazines and webzines in Denmark, Holland, Germany, Argentina, United Kingdom, Sweden, New Zealand, Norway, and Japan. The internet radio stations are playing "We Will Rock" from the CD, with one reviewer calling it a "Call to arms" and others calling it a "Rock anthem". Another one of our most requested songs is "Death Run", it was written by Don Stacy about the rigors of the road, playing back to back one night stands. It showcases Don and Jeff Shinn on Dual lead guitars. It's a very high energy type of song that always goes over well live. The most commercial sounding cut is "On and On" written by Keith in 1987. We hope you enjoy the new page as much as the old one,so sorry about the old page being deleted,we will be striking soon...JESSE BOLT
Influences: ReviewsJESSE BOLT - The RevelationUnapologetically muscular yet hooky 80s metal baked to near perfection by veteran musicians seemingly inspired by middle of the road, technically proficient and proud car stereo escapism. From the opening call to arms of "We Will Rock", there is a mature feistiness filling the atmosphere. Big, dramatic and accessible, the album sports a handful of quality tracks with the rest above bar as well. The vocals are a tad smoky bluesy with sufficient angst ridden range to provide proper chills. No, not the scary kind but the "yeah man, that rocks" kinda chills. Another spot on element is the Def Lep "High and Dry" era guitars. Not overly distorted but just enough so to pop you in the gut and retain the groove all the same. A recommended collection of seriously developed metal that is more fun than most bands that try to be fun but ultimately bore. By the way, Jesse Bolt is the band name, not a musician in the band.
-- Brian Coles -- The Electric BasementJesse Bolt is a hard driven band that is covered in '80's flavor, but not to the pop extent of the idea. The closest pinpoint I can make is perhaps a bit of Def Leppard ( from the High & Dry era) meets .38 Special meets The Black Crowes. A very unique combination of influences here, but somehow it all gels and makes for a fun listen. The cd invariably rocks! The thing I find most appealing is the hint of blues married with the crunchy sound of the guitars. This is definitely a bunch of musicians who are trying to put the fun back into metal without loosing their edge or maturity for trend's sake! Note: ( No one in the band is actually named Jesse Bolt!) Favorites include the rocking, anthem-like "We Will Rock" and the darker cut and title track "The Revelation". All selections show great musicianship by seasoned players!
