Morgarten fut formé en 2005 dans la région de Neuchâtel, en Suisse. Disposant dès le départ d'un local et de matériel de sonorisation (grand merci à GPG sonorisation), ils se lancèrent immédiatement dans la composition, voulant créer leur propre style, sans se calquer sur d'autres groupes, mais en s'inspirant du metal d'Antestor, Slechtvalk ou Eluveitie. Morgarten attendit fin 2006 pour sortir de son local et reçut de bonnes réactions suite aux concerts donnés. Prenant pour thème l'époque médiévale, leur metal fut décrit comme une musique "à la fois mélodieuse et guerrière qui vous transporte au milieu d'une forêt, au temps des chevaliers."
Morgarten was formed in 2005 in the region of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Having from the beginning a room to practise and audio material at disposal, they immediately started to compose material with the wish to create their own style, not just copying other bands. Their inspiration was the music of Antestor, Slechtvalk and Eluveitie. Morgarten waited till the end of 2006 to step out of his cave and received good feedback, after several gigs. Using the theme of medieval times, their metal has been described as "both melodic and warlike, transporting you into the middle of a forest at the time of knights"
