Manos Anagnostopoulos

Welcome to my space. I was born in Athens Greece and started to play the bass at the age of 16. I decided to become a professional musician when I was 18 . I started my studies in the Phillipos Nakas conservatorium where I studied with Yiannis Papatriantafilou , Takis Paterelis , Kostas Mpaltazanis , Yiannis Anninos , Kostas Kostantinou , Yiotis Kiourtsoglou , Takis Mparmperis.After studing for 2 years I won a scolarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston where I studied for one semester. I studied with Giants like : Oscar Stagnaro, Fernando Huergo, David Clark , Steeve Roshinsky, Dan Moretti ,Joe Santere, and attended masterclasses from the Yellowjackets , Oscar Stagnaro , Vince Mentoza , Hiram Bullock , Jeff Tain Wats , Kenwood Denard. After Berklee I decided to move to Holland in order to continue my music studies in the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam.I studied bass with Charlie Angenois, Lene Te Voortwis, Theo de Yong , and the Great Master David de Marez Oyens.I have participated in varius projects playing different styles of music ( jazz , rock , fusion , soul , funk, latin , pop, brazilian... ) and performed in Holland ,Austria and Greece .Attended Masterclasses led by : Avishay Cohen, Michael Hatzigeorgiou, Bobby Mcferrin , Victor Bailey, Melvin Lee Davis, Kenny Werner, Mike Stern, Pat Martino, Ney Conciencao ,Kai Eckhard , Timusin Sahin , Peter Erskine , John Scofield , Richard Bona , Nelson Faria , Leonardo Amuedo , Linley Marthe, Jim Black, Jack DeJohnette , Kiko Freitas .In the year 2006 I started studing Improvization through non western techniques , a master study build upon carnatic traditions.I graduated the conservatorium in february 2008 Now I live in Athens Greece
