About Me

This profile was edited with icedbun.com Editor

I was born in Washington, DC and raised in South Carolina. A talented multimedia artist with a solid background in broadcast television, video and film; my range of experience is from writing and producing behind the scenes, to local on-air personality. After graduating high school, my love for art led me to NC A&T State University to study design. With just a brief college career, I left North Carolina to head to New York City to take my bite out of the Big Apple. New York was someplace I felt I had to go as an artist and is where I got a chance to use my talents and education to break into the industry through storyboarding for independent projects and filmmakers. It is where I was able to craft my skills, as I discovered the world of independent filmmaking.New York was a special place for me for many reasons; it is where I met my husband, Caribbean filmmaker, Oscar Jackson of Trinidad & Tobago (Enter The Black Dragon). We produce indie films, documentaries, commercials, educational and community programs through our production company, Fu Family Films, Inc.

With a host of career experiences in media, I felt the importance of sharing my skills and experience with youth. As a young artist to a career artist, I can personally identify with the influence of arts and education on career opportunities. It is the foundation of the youth media arts camps offered to after-school and summer programs through Fu Family Films. The programs are made possible with the association of the local school district and community business leaders. I serve as the Youth Media CIO, My students’ work is broadcast on local television and has received national recognition. The purpose of FFF Youth Media camps are to provide a curriculum where students can discover and develop talents for creative and media arts. Along with the arts, the camps develop leadership, and communication skills.“We serve as more than an after-school or summer pastime, the mission is to change young lives and build stronger educational and community values. Helping kids stay in school and out of trouble is a goal of the youth media camps through Fu Family Films. Students who stay in school have opportunities to brighter futures.”-Tonya Morman Jackson FFF Youth Media CIO
