Carefully Planned is a night that happens in Kro Bar up on Oxford Road, opposite the students' union. It's a big white building next to Natwest where there's a cash machine and inside you can buy slices of cake. That's in Kro Bar, by the way. Not Natwest.
Carefully Planned usually involves between 4 and 6 bands playing live sets. In between those sets, music is played from a playlist on my ipod. I usually put together the playlist on the day of the event and it is usually comprised of music by my favourite bands, old and new. I'm totally into loads and loads of very good music, so the chances are you're going to hear something you like. Provided, of course, that you are actually there.
Carefully Planned tends to have bands on that are either fun and exciting or sweet and lovely or a little bit of both. That pretty much sums it up really. Sound-wise. The event itself is intended, I think, as somewhere to go to have a really great time. You're not allowed to think you're any cooler than anyone else who's there if you come. That's bullshit. Mostly. Unless it's obvious you're loads cooler. Then yuo could just subtly tutor this idiot how they can be as cool as you. Music is very regularly made for people to move about to and yet so often I have found myself in rooms where it seems everyone's gone down to stand still and quietly sulk a bit. I'm not really into any of that so I'm putting these gigs on so that people like me can come and dance about loads. And I think all of that comes accross a little bit. It's a good thing to be at Carefully Planned is. You should come and see for yourself.
